My CD drive will not open.

I have tried to open the CD drive several times and it just keeps blinking an orange light at me. I tried to restart my computer and to push the eject button on the outside as well as on my computer's music program, but the player will not open.

Hello,
Some times depending on the age and use of the drive, the gears that make the drive open and close can go bad. Another way to test the drive is to: (Windows OS)

  1. Right Click 'My Computer'
  2. Click 'Properties'
  3. Click the 'Hardware' Tab
  4. Click the 'Device Manager' Tab
  5. Expand the 'DVD/CD-ROM' drive
  6. Right Click 'Properties' the drive that your having the problem with.
  7. Then under 'Device Status' sometimes this gives you a brief explanation such as 'Device not working properly' usually this means the device is not repairable, and you might want to consider purchasing a new one.

My modem light is orange. every time i reset it it goes from blue to orange

Hi Christopher s crisp,
Is it blinking Orange or steady?
Blinking amber: The Router can't detect the modem. Either the
modem is off, is not plugged into the Router, or is unresponsive.
It could be the modem.
You can try connecting the modem directly to computer bypassing the router and see if that works.
Check the LED on Modem.
Do you have other computers to test the connection?
Might need to talk to ISP if issue with Modem.

Let me know.
Thanks

When I turn on my ipod shuffle & hit play it blinks green and orange several times and won't play

The Apple iPod shuffle is a digital music player that contains a single indicator light that relays information about the device's battery condition, computer connection and any errors the device is having. The indicator light is capable of blinking red, green or orange as well as displaying a steady red, green or orange light. The iPod Shuffle includes a Universal Serial Bus interface and buttons on the front of the device for controlling music files.

Blinking Orange A blinking orange light indicates the iPod Shuffle is receiving an update via iTunes to the device's internal components. The update could include a patch to repair an error the player encountered once before, an update to the player's file-saving software, or a combination of security, repair and software updates. Updates are free and automatically sent directly from Apple through iTunes to your iPod shuffle before a sync process starts. Disconnecting iPod Shuffle When the player's light is blinking orange, do not unplug the device from your computer's USB port this will stop the update process and possible corrupt the device's internal hard drive. Let the update process and sync process finish before clicking "Eject" within iTunes and removing the player. Disk Use Enabled If you use your iPod Shuffle as a flash drive and not as a music player, a blinking orange light means that the device is connected to your computer and ready to accept files. The "Disk Use" enabled setting is changeable within iTunes if you decide to use your iPod Shuffle for music storage instead of file storage. When set up as a flash drive, the iPod Shuffle is assigned a drive letter by your computer's operating system and the drive lets you "drag and drop" files to the device. b> Charging If your iPod shuffle's battery is completely depleted or low on charge, connect the player to your computer immediately for charging then leave it connected to receive any updates to the device's software and internal components. Its indicator light may or may not blink orange until after it is fully charged. If the battery is low on charge or completely depleted, you may receive an error stating that the iPod is corrupt or needs restoring, close the error message and let the device fully charge.

My garage door opener stopped working. when you push the remote or the button on the wall it makes a clicking sound and does nothing. there is an orange light blinking where the light bulb is.

The blinking LED light will tell you what has caused the opener to stop working. Count the number of times it blinks after you press the button, then refer to the opener manual. If you do not have the manual, you can usually find it online.

If the safety-eyes are not aligned properly, or blocked, the opener will not function. It will open, but not close. It could also be a part inside the motor that has malfunctioned- usually a circuit board or RPM sensor.

See our tips and tricks page for a more detailed explanation, as well as a few maintenance tips to keep the opener working properly.

Cd drive led light flashes orange four to five times then stops

Given all the things that you ahev done, clean the drive with a CD/DVD cleaner and / or air duster. Check the device is enabled in Device Manager and it shows no errors. If it does then read the explanation. If not and it looks OK you will most likely need a new drive!

CD drine issue

To manually open the CD Drive, straighten a paper clip and insert it into a tiny hole in the front of your CD drive and push the paper clip gently into the drive and the tray should then pop open.
Open and close this several times, then insert a disc into the drive and see if it will read the disc.
If not the drive is dead and needs to be replaced.
