Hello Friend, Your solution is very simple. You need to replace the motor coupler. It's easy to replace the motor coupler on your machine. First, remove the two screws that hold control panel in place and tilt back exposing the two metal clips that hold the cabinet in place. You will see some wires plugged into the cabinet, just unplug them. There are two clips, one on each side. Just pop these clips off and lift cabinet slightly from back and tilt forward. At this point you will be able to completely remove the cabinet. Once you have cabinet removed just set it aside. Now, just lay the washer on it's back. At this point you will see the water pump, motor, and transmission. Remove the pump by snapping off the two spring clips. The pump will slide right off the motor shaft. Now, remove the two screws that hold the two spring clips attached to motor. Unplug all the wires etc. and then snap the metal clips off motor. Lift motor straight up, it should slide right off. Now you will see the motor coupler. Half of the coupler is on the transmission shaft and the other half is on the motor shaft. There is a rubber center connector ring that connects the two together. Just remove the old coupler pieces by prying under them with slotted screwdriver and replace with new ones. Re-assymble the washer and the problem you are encountering should be solved. Happy to help, Tim.

I have kenmore 80 series heavy duty/ super capacity plus washer that after it fills with water, hot or cold and it starts the wash cycle, I noticed that the agitator only moves once in awhile and stops

hum either a bad timer sticking the point contacts close. have u tried this in all cycles? and possibly a motor with bad windings not enough power to run agitation? try running in mild or gentle and see what happens? I was tempted to say the cam dogs in agitator but they dont work then stop then work, when they go out they go out.

Kenmore 90 plus series washer won't spin, barely agitates, will drain - but makes loud noise

It sounds like the transmission is done. Can't pinpoint what it is exactly, but I would start there.

Kenmore 90 plus series: heavy duty super capacity won't agitate

this is the site to find out how to fix your washer.
you have a broken drive coupling.
it probably wont agitate or spin, but will fill and drain.
you need to remove 2 screws from the control panel, hinge it back and then remove the 2 brass colored clips that hold the cabinet to the base. once you do then pull the entire cabinet forwards to a 45 degree angle and pull it off the base.
then pull the 2 clips off pump and then 2 more on the motor. that will allow you to get to the drive coupling. you will find it to be broken.
replace it with part number 285753a for about 15-20 bucks.

Not spinning

I am assuming that you washer is agitating, right? If it is...and, your symptoms are: normal fill, agitate, but when it gets ready to spin, the washer stops - this is usually a symptom of a defective lid switch. Try opening and closing the washer lid, you should hear a distinctive clicking noise as the lid closes. This will activate the lid switch, which will control the timer and all other functions. The lid switches come in two basic types for Kenmore:

1. It will be located on the right-hand side of the lid opening as a small slot with a plunger from the lid activating it as it closes.

2. It will be located on the left-hand side of the lid opening in the back with a rod on the lid hinge activating the switch.

This is a fairly common problem that can be easily fixed. The switch usually costs about $35.

If this sounds like the symptoms you are having, let me know and I can determine what part number you might need, and give you advice on how to fix it.

If not, please post back with comments and elaborate in a little more detail. I hope this helps you.

Loud clicking noise - wont agitate or spin

I had the same clicking noise. Turned out to be the coupling between the motor and transmission. A $15 plus 1 hour labor fix
