I have a Danby Kegerator and the thermostat control appears to be broken. It says the temp is 18 degrees and the beer line is frozen. We've unplugged it in hopes that would reset it, but the temp went from 45 to 18. Any idea how to fix this? Thanks in advance!

If its 46 degrees that tells me compressor must be running. So what I would do first is unplug unit, locate compressor condenser coil & fan.Clean condenser coil with brush, air,or coil cleaner.plug back up wait & see.If still not cold enough needs freon.
Well, the control circuit get input from thermostat. what you need to change is right the thermostat. I do not think there is any way to lower fridge temp if you do not replace thermostat.you could put an additional switch to turn on/off manually the compressor when you need extra cold, but in this way you risk to damage the motor. You need to change the thermostat with one that switch on at a lower temperature. to do this you may need to use a non-fabric part.
I also have a Danby Dkc146sldb. I tapped it full yesterday with a full CO2 Tank and dialed the psi to 10. I had a lot of foam even though it set for an entire day. The next night nothing came out. I played with tgeCO2 Again. I can hear gas going I but nothing coming out. I eventually got it working set itagain back to 12 psi (Bud light) and everything tasted fine. I increased the temperature a bit and today pulled the handle and once again nothing. This is very frustrating. Maybe I'm a dummy but can someone please tell me what I'm doing wrong? I pulled the release on the coupler into the beer keg and there's definitely has gas coming out. Please tell me something that might solve this prolem . I'm running out of ideas. Shouod I remove omething from the lines of "rings" going into the beer keg? I keep reading things about removing guts or reversing the ring? I'm really confused.
An EE error code means that you have loose connections (loose temperature sensor connections) check all the wires for a loose connection temperature touch pad the units main control board the control board is in the back of the unit there is a panel covering in the middle lower back near the compressorInside your unit on the left side in the lower rear theres a vented piece of plastic pry that off thats the temperature sensor make sure all the connections are tight If the error does not clear then your temperature sensor is faulty you can get a new sensor at www.repaiclinic.com.or or at www.appliancepartspros.com hope this helped Good Luck!
contact mark pasieka for a repair.... mail in the board and he can fix it and send it back.... if you live in the chicagoland area he is a liscensed for all types of refridgeration, and since he has 2 degrees in electrical engineering he is especially proficient when the issue is electrical in nature... This solution probably costs more than you care to spend on the problem, but you can buy an external temp controller like this one:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0002EAL58
You run the probe into the fridge and plug the fridge into the controller. Then the controller will only turn on the fridge if it gets warmer than the temperature you specify.
You might be able to find it cheaper on ebay, too. I'm using this on a kegerator and can keep my beer at a consistent temp.
Drop thae stat it's a screw on the left side that controls temp.Don't rush this you don't wnt to freeze your beer. 1,5 turns to the left will take you down to ice cold beer.
There is a check valve inside the coupler of the danby kegs that cause this problem. The valve is mainly there to prevent beer from back-flowing when changing the keg. Next time you change your keg check for a little black plastic retainer and also a small white plastic ball inside the coupler. Remove those (or just smell it) and you should notice that this is the taste/smell your beer has. I removed mine after this discovery, and there isn't any issues with the taste/smell since. I've heard this is a common issue with the Danby D coupler systems. Also, you won't have any issues with beer backflow when you change the keg, provided the line going to the tap is empty (which usually is if keg is kicked).
Not sure u have a problem.. all appliances dont HOLD a certain.. Temp.. They cycle.. come on for awhile reach a temp the shut down.. goes so low the comes back on... the middle of the cycle is the avarage temp... yours being 36 from what you posted
