How do I get the hard drive out of the tower of my crashed PC?What exactly am I looking for? Who do I go to if I want to get data off the hard drive?

look at the back of the computer, look at the edges around the inside of the case your looking for screws or spinners where finger turn them remove them than the side panel should slide back towards the back of the case. look inside the case locate dvd player, follow it down come to square or oblong device ribbon cable, ribbon cable will have 16 pins about 3 inchs wide, if hard drive had sata cables little 1/2 wide with L shape connector, look at the case, look where the hard drive is mounted and find the screws that are holding the hard drive in place., you are going to remove the screws there maybe 2-4 screws holding the drive in place,. remove power connection and hard drive connection than pull out the drive. now getting infomation off the drive is alot of work go on line hard drive removal device, esata or sata with usb connection and power supply to run hard drive software to back up stuff you want. if you need more help email me thru this site.

How do i remove a harddrive from a computer case when only one side has screws to remove? Details: Okay so i'm trying to remove a hard drive from a computer case that only has screws on the back right...

In this case the hard drive is mounted in a frame. Look for mounting screws that locks this frame to the computer case. When you remove this frame you can access the screws holding the hard drive.

How do I get the second hard drive out of a dell precision 670

Hello there. before going into the Case make sure to touch the metal

Power down the PC and remove all cables

Open the side of the Case find the hard drive you want to remove unplug the two cables connecting to the hard drive and slowly remove the hard drive from the bay you may need to UN-screw the hard drive.

put in the new drive into its bay connect both cables put the case back together connect all the cables back to the PC boot the System up and reformat the new drive .

If you need anymore help with this problem let me know, i have done it many times myself thank you and don't forget to Rate

I OWN A DELL OPTIPLEX GX110 THAT WAS MADE IN 2000 I REMOVED THE HARD DRIVE TO SEE IF IT WOULD WORK ON A NOTHER BUT THE HOOK UPS WHERE DIFFERENT IT WAS NEVER HOOKED UP TO ANOTHER I WENT TO HOOK IT UP AND IT...

Make sure you hooked it to the same ribbon cable it was b4 you unhooked, check to make sure the power and ribbon cables are pushed in all the way on the hard drive and cd/dvd rom's, Check to see if the ribbon cable got pulled out from the main board side, Also try a different power cable there should one or two that are not being used with black caps on then.

DELL Optiplex GX110 freezing

Check the settings of the internal setups. This is using the BIOS itself and hitting a particular key before anything happens. On some machines it is F1 or the DEL key. In the basic setup there are settings for the boot order and floppy drives and HD type. Make sure these are set correctely.

ALSO on one of mine I have to use a formatting/partitioning program supplied by the HD manufacturer (in this case Maxtor) to pre-prepare the drive beofre trying to install WIndows.

"plug and play configuarataion error"

The BIOS was unable to configure bus-resource. There may be an interrupt conflict which can't be avoided. Dell suggests that you remove some of your non-essential cards and see if it goes away. In one case this problem was due to a defective motherboard. I also heard that some try unplugging things like your speakers, mouse, keyboard...ect.. and plug them back in.
