Forgot my phone password

Don't worry you can unlock samsung a177 password using PUK code, enter any password until your phone request your puk code then insert your puk code. But i doubt this since your sim card and your phone already lost for a couple month maybe your sim already blocked too so try to use samsung network unlock code or reflash your phone to nearest local mobile phone repair shop.

To reset the handset, to the factory default settings, follow the steps below:

1. While in standby mode, press the left soft key for Menu
2. Select Settings (9)
3. Select Reset Settings (10)
4. Highlight, using the navigation keys, any of the following:
• All: Phone, Display, Profile and Alarm settings will be returned to default values
• Phone Settings: only phone settings will be returned to default values
• Display Settings: only display settings will be returned to default values
• Profiles: only profile settings will be returned to default values
• Alarms: only alarm settings will be returned to default values
5. Press the center navigation key to check the box(es) of reset settings
6. Press the left soft key for OK to set the Reset
7. Enter the password, using the keypad, default password is “00000000”
8. Press the left soft key for Confirm
9. Enter the password again to confirm, using the keypad
10. Press the left soft key for Confirm
11. Press the left soft key for Yes to reset the handset's settings to the factory defaults
    

Sir, any phone has 2 passwords.

1. Security Code.
2. Lock code

Sir, you have set one of the above passwords. If you have forgot one then enter the second as an alternative. I assume that you have given 1 password and forgot it, thus you remember the second. If you have never changed the second code ( the on you have not forgotten ), it is surely is at default. You can easily obtain the second code from the manual.

Puk code is needed when you have entered the pin code wrong 3 times.

If you have a phone lock code on it and you can't remember to code try the defaults 0000 1234 12345 00000 etc. if you can't unlock it contact your dealer with proof or pruchase or contact a samsung service center, you can get those details from www.samsung.com you will most likely have to send the phone to be unlocked.

you can try entering these two codes without a sim card in the phone. write them where you would write 911 phone should restart. then insert the sim card and try turning the phone on.

*2767*3855# = Full Reset
*2767*2878# = Custom Reset

If these don't help then contact samsung for unlock service you will most likely have to send the phone to a service center.

If you can enter *2767*3855# without the simcard then that's the way to unlock and reset it but it will delete all information stored on the phone. Unfortunately, if you won't be able to enter the strings of command completely, then there's no other way to unlock it but to send the phone for repair to Samsung service center.
