Re: speakers

I have a similar problem. The set is under warranty and the Philips technician came to check it. he said that if the system is on all the time, the memory gets used and when there is a sudden loud sound in the movie, the balance memory is inadequate to handle the load. he suggested that I keep the set's power switched off and switch on only when I use it. This seems to have made things better.

Philips home theater suddenly doesn't produce sounds

Sounds like the main amplifier section circuit inside the system is damaged. Contact any service technician, or the authorized service center for Philips.

Low sound

seems like a component level problem, I would contact your dealer incase you have warranty to get it replaced.

I was listening to in on full volume a few weeks ago (as I wanted to be able to hear it from the shower!) and it suddenly started making popping noises.

try using other speakers....the suspect is the speakers, maybe the cones are worn out....due to vibrations caused bu full volume

This is usually a system setting on your receiver. Go into the Setup and make sure the configuration for your speakers is correct. But FIRST, make sure the surround setting on the receiver is set to Surround rather than Stereo. I know that might sound dumb, but you'd be surprised how often that gets missed.

Ihave a sava-500 home theater speaker system i dont have the cord to connect the 2 tower speakers will this affect the sound from the main speaker using the av input

With not all the speakers hooked up, it will definitly effect the sound. The unit is designed to channel different sounds to certain speakers. That's what makes you feel like "you are there" If you have lost the cords to the tower speakers, you can buy replacements. Go to where you bought the unit, a Radio Shack, or other store that sells home theater systems. Enjoy your system like it was designed .

Sony DAV-SC8. I'm suddenly getting distortion

It sounds like the speakers themselves are the problem rather than the amp.
Although, it would be rare to have overdriven/blown the surrounds.
My suggestion would be to isolate which speakers or channels (on Amp) are at fault.
Swap left and right to see if the problem transfers across.

Kenwood RD-VH7 cuts out

Hi all, I just had same problem on my RD-VH7, in fact i have two units, one works perfectly, any trouble, but other had same problem. Click and stop playing speakers. Really it's a "protection" of the system that overheat a lot. I need to comment that i repair it by myself and i recomend a little of knowledge about how desamble and resamble the unit, due to it's very compressed. The solutions is so easy. Simply the speakers terminals inside need be to re-weld them to the main board. Due to the overheating this make the welds maje a "fake contact" (sorry about my english) and the protection circuit activate this desconnection. I made this welding perfectly only on this terminals and now it works perfectly. The good news are that it's not an circuit problem. Hope this info can help all guys. Ciao
