My GE side by side refrigerator model GSH25JSRFSS has stopped cooling completely in both the refrigerator and the freezer. I replaced the main board this morning and there is still no temperature change at all. I made sure the condenser coils are cleaned, the evaporator fan is running, as well as the condenser fan is running also. Prior to it completely stopping cooling, a few months ago the refrigerator would seem to freeze stuff that was towards the back intermittently, as well as the freezer starting to thaw food intermittently as well as the ice causing large ice jams in the ice container. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what else the problem could be or is there anything I can test on my own with an EVOM to try to pinpoint the exact problem?
In many cases changing the board alone will not solve the problem if the start relay, overload and the run capacitor have not been replaced, WR09X10107 Relay and Overload Kit and WR62X79 Run Capacitor You can locate a service manual HERE and test points and wiring diagram HERE I am here to answer any questions you may have, Thanks Sea Breeze

It is possible you have a defective fan motor in the condenser area or evaporator area. Sometimes when they become defective they will run for a while and just warm up and stop while the compressor continues to run. I learned that one on four costly returns to the home. The cost was to me not the customer. Thanks, Sea Breeze

That model refrigerator uses the mother control board for deciding when defrost is to take place. It has no defrost timer or Adaptive Defrost Control like other refrigerators. This sounds like *********** board part number WR55X10942 is malfunctioning. The board decides most functions of your refrigerator. Until the board is replace I do not believe the problem will resolve itself. Thanks, Sea Breeze
