At the windows login screen hold down alt+control+delete
This will give you a screen where you can type in a username and password
Try this login
Username : Administrator
Password :
Assuming that you did not set an administrator password it will be blank, and you can log right into the system.
Once you do that, simply go to the control panel and then users. You can then click on your username and select the option to delete the current password.
Alternatively you can also attempt to log into safemode by pressing f8 before windows boots, from there you can try to log into administrator as well and remove the password the same way described as above.
If all else fails you can download the ultimate boot cd. It is a bootable cd that has an option to remove some windows xp passwords.
You can find the ultimate boot cd at http://www.ultimatebootcd.com/
Good Luck
