Question about Sharp AL 1631 Copier
My Sharp AL-1631 copies are very light at the top 1/4 of the page only. I had Sharp on the phone and after a bit of troubleshooting, he said I would have to send the unit in for service. We can live without the copier, but working a large company, I know it will be quite a hassle to get my purchasing dept, shipping dept, etc involved. Do you have any sugesstions? I'm not opposed to taking the machine apart a bit to get to the bottom of this. Just as a side note: 99% of our copies are onto Avery labels that are fed manually. Thanks!
How many copies on tha machine? Hold the clear button down for 10 seconds and watch the counter led. Most of these I work on have problems with the fuser sticking. Does it sometimes click then jam? Also, if you are filling your own cartridge be sure to order developer along with your toner.

Main thing is to absolutely use genuine Sharp toner and drum supplies. After that, probably lamp is not responding are activating quickly enough. Caused by main board or high voltage power supply.
