Straighten one end of a Norwegian paper-clip, and insert it into the small hole on the face-plate. Push it in until you feel resistance, then push another 5 millimeters, to "unlock" the drive-tray.
Then, gently pull the tray open a bit, and press the "eject" button, and the tray will fully open.
Step 1: Open your anti-virus software program and run a full scan on your computer. Delete all quarantined and infected files when the scan is complete. Insert your Windows XP Install CD into your computer's CD/DVD-ROM drive. Restart your computer. Press the "R" button on your keyboard when the screen says "Welcome to Setup." Type in the admin password when prompted. Press "1" and then "Enter" to open the command prompt. Type "fixboot" into the command prompt. Press "Y" when a pop-up box appears, asking you for confirmation. Restart your computer and you should be taken to your desktop.
1. Put a blank CD or DVD into the device you wish to
write with. 2. When you install Nero, it will create shortcuts to
many different programs. You want to double-click on the icon labeled Nero
Burning Rom to start the program. 3. When Nero starts, it may start in the New Compilation
screen. If it does, click on the Cancel button. 4. At the top of the Nero window will be a drop down menu
containing a list of devices that you can write to. Make sure the CD or
DVD Recording device that you wish to write to is selected. 5. Then click on the Recorder menu and
choose Burn Image. 6. This will open a windows called Open
which will allow you to navigate to the image file you would like to write.
Navigate to the image and click once on it to select it. Then press the
Open button. 7. A Burn Compilation screen will now
open. At this screen put a check marks next the check boxes labeled Write
and Finalize CD (or Finalize DVD) 8. When the writing is complete there will be a message
box from Nero stating it is finished. Simply click on the OK
button. 9. If you are finished, click on the Done
button and Nero will eject the newly created CD or DVD.

Sometimes you can use a paperclip and put it in the middle of the tray and slowly pull it open. Once it is fully opened, slowly and carefully pull the tray all the way back, then press the eject button and see if everything re-aligns itself.
Perhaps it didn't fully latch so the CD drive doesn't think it's closed? Try opening and closing the door manually by straightening out a paperclip, then inserting it into the little hole in the front of the CD door. That should open it. Once open, close it and see if it will now open when you press the Open/Close button.
yes frn this is happen due to the jam in the DVD rom. when you press the eject button put one pin in the hole that is just below the eject button. so that you can eject your DVD. or just hit the cd ROM slowly.
If you look on the side edge of your laptop (more than likely the right side) you should see a CD/DVD drive bay with a small button. Just press that and it should pop out enough for you to finish pulling it out.
The other way to do it is to open "My Computer", right click on the icon that says "CD/DVD" and select "Eject".
