No dash lights

I have no dash/heater/radio lights on a 2000 passat 1.9 tdi. ive checked all the fuses including the hidden ones under the dash, ive changed the dimmer switch and headlight switch and swaped all relays over with another passat, even changed the dial cluster. Is there a control unit hidden somewhere?

Possibly. i would get the wiring checked out by an electrician.

hope this helps.

try tracing the wiring. it may go to a main electrical plug where it meets the main loom. try carrying out a continuity check of the wires.

    hope this helps

My interior lights wont work in my vw passat 2.0 tdi sport 2007

  • There is a fuse box on the drivers side either under the dash or on the aids of the dash. One of them fuses could be blown.

  • The other thing that could be going wrong is the harness on the driver side door. If you open the drivers door you will see a harness stretching from the frame to the door. You can get into that harness and look for broke, bulged or rusted wires and splice in new ones. This is common with aged vehicles because of the amount that door is used.

Where is plug for scanner

i should probably know this since i used to work at a vw dealer but we didnt do many old passats. i know that the old jettas had it hidden behind a small piece of plastic near the radio/heater controls. 96 and up vehicles are supposed to be obd2 thought, and one law of obd2 vehicles is that the connector must be under the drivers side dash, and visible from the left front corner of the driver seat.

I have an old (s reg) vw passat tdi, I have no heating, I have changed the fuse, could it be an electrical problem Barbara

if your missing the blower motor in the heater, check fuses with a test light, check for power on both sides of fuse, turn key on,turn blower switch on and take your test light and check for power in the blower motor wires,is is under the dash and behind the glove box.if you have power the motor need replaced,if you don't chances are it is the blower motor resistor

VW Passat 1.6l 2000 (UK) Electrical failure

fuses are usually in the glove box or under the drivers dash or under the drivers side hood either physically inspect every fuse by pulling them one by one or the aid of a test light and a good ground to the test light

Air -heater, no blower, radio and dash lights up. no play

Lincolns have 5year, 50000 mile warranty. Thats one advantage to buying a Lincoln. If you are not covered your problem with the blower can be a blower control switch. Its under the hood behind the engine and in the ductwork. Its about the size of a pack of cigarettes with 90% hidden. It has 2 screws and 1 electric plug.
The radio problem could be the mute or the phone setting. Warranty should cover them both. Good Luck

Air-conditioning not icy cold inside my VW Passat TDI 1996

chances are if you system was serviced by modern equipment then they would have pulled a vacuum before recharging .. that would eliminate moisture in the system .. the evaporator is inside your heater box .. you cant see it .. the condenser is the radiator like device in front of your engine cooling radiator ..

if the system is changed properly and still does not work or works intermittantly . then there is a good chance that the air conditioner clutch electronic module is bad .. thats a relay like device located on the drivers side behind the dash .. you have to snap off the dash side panel .. its normally hidden by the door .. inside that is the fuse panel and behind that is the relays/electronic modules .. the one that operates the air conditioner clutch is marked 384 .. there are other possibilities depending on your a more precise description of the problem ..
