It is possible the front door plastic door interlock for the SALT sensor shutter is broken or not in place, (see picture below). If the shutter is not actuated by the interlock, the SALT sensor will error out when trying to perform ATR measurement resulting in an E020. Sub codes will be related to yellow ATR measurementsince it is the first color laid down on the ITB for ATR measurement.

BUT FIRST: Check the ATR SENSOR, left from the developing rotor you have an "rail" with atr sensor - vacume it!!!!! Vacum all dev units, and copier

Cause
For ATR control, the detected Toner/Density ratio exceeds the lower limit (3%) 3 times continuously for Yellow

Action
The ATR Sensor and Patch Image Read Sensor both determine toner density. Depending on the density readings the copier will or will not add toner. Check the status of the Drum Unit under COPIER>DISPLAY>MISC>DRUM-LIFE. The Patch Image Read Sensor looks at a patch of toner that is generated on the drum for each colour and determines the amount of toner that is in the patch by the amount of reflected light. If the drum is not creating the patch correctly, the patch reading will be affected. Replace the Drum Unit if it is 80% of its rated life or higher. ..

ATR Error (E020-XXXX) Display due to Dirt on ATR Sensor Window


Cause
The waste toner may adhere on the ATR sensor window or the sensor shutter. As a result of that, it may be faultily detected as ATR sensor fault and trigger the ATR sensor error (E020-XXXX).


The detail codes (xxxx) are as follow: XXA0, XXA2, XXA8, XXA9, XXC0, XX10, XX11, XXDA.

Filed Measure
Clean the ATR sensor window and the ATR sensor shutter with the following procedure. 1) Remove the ATR sensor from the main body. 2) Press the plunger [1] of the ATR sensor lever solenoid in the direction of the arrow. 3) Clean the ATR sensor window [2] and the ATR sensor shutter [3] with lint-free paper [4].

How old is the drum? The ATR sensor may not be reading correctly, due to a older drum and can't get a correct reading. Was the problem there before you replaced the Black developer? Also, have you tried to replace the ATR sensor yet? Try those few things and get back to us.... Good Luck
