Question about Sony PlayStation Portable (PSP) Console
My son's PSP was working fine and suddenly the games won't load. It makes the loading sound (as usual) and then clicks - all repeated about 3 or 4 times and then nothing. The warranty expired about 5 months ago, a not so hopeful woman at GAME just said send to SONY. Please can anyone offer solutions - I know if I have to send to SONY it wont be back for about 6 months and I will have a very unhappy 13 year old who will try and persuade me to buy a new one!
All the options on the home page are are avaliable, but as soon as soon as I put a game in it starts to make a constant beeping souond and does not allow an option to load a game. The little circle is moving whilst the game is in, but it is just not loading a any game i put into the PSP. In have tried cleaning the disk and drive and have reset all the settings but stikll no joy.

Start by cleaning the UMD drive, you can do this with an alcohol-free CD wipe wrapped around a cotton bud (Q-tip) or preferably with an air duster (available from any good hardware or electronics store). Next clean the disk(s), you can do this by turning the centre of the disk with one finger and holding an alcohol-free CD wipe to the disk surface with another, however you can buy UMD cleaning tools from most large game stores that make the job much easier.
