Question about Virgin Electronics VM-500 MP3 Player
The website www.virginelectronics.com no longer exists. In the past I had to reformat my VM-500 and reinstalled the virgin software (from their site) and reloaded all my music etc. This MP3 player only works with media player 10 and requires the music management software to be installed. The music management software never came on a disk but was on the hardrive of the MP3 player and of course I lost this when I formatted. Their website is no longer around, so where in the world can I find the Virgin VM-500 music management software ?? I have trying searching for it all over the web with no success. Can anyone out there help me ?
still having problems with virgin 5gb mp3 player? email me at firstname.lastname@example.org tell me the problem and i may be able to help you.
i am not an admin of this site, just trying to help other users cos ive had similar problems. but all fixed now.

Thanks!! NguoiPhap's response and corresponding links (provided below) on Dec 8, 2007 solved my problem!
The first link is a zip file that contains the setup file for the VM-500 along with the user guide that explains how to resolve the "Oh dear! this player is a piece of junk" (okay, so I ad libbed). The 2nd link is for a critical file missing from the set up. The solution is basically 3 steps:
1) Plug in your VM-500 into your PC and right click to select "Properties" and then select "Format" to clear everything out of the device to start from scratch.
2) After downliading the zip file from the "setup" link above, unzip and run the setup.exe program on your PC. It will detect the VM-500, install the firmware and the system folder and subfolders.
3) Using the 2nd link above, download the file PP5050.mi4 to your PC and then copy it to the system folder (not the subfolders) in your VM-500.
That's it! Your VM-500 should be all fixed and should bring up the "device tour" tutorial. Thanks so much to NguoiPhap for providing! -Hank

A 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
