Dripping in tub when complete

If your Kenmore washer series 400 model 22102 is dripping water in the tub after the cycle is complete, there could be a few potential causes. Here are some things to check:
  1. Water valve: The dripping could be due to a faulty water inlet valve. This valve controls the flow of water into the machine and if it's not closing properly, water can continue to drip into the tub even when the cycle is complete. You may need to replace the water inlet valve to fix the issue.
  2. Water level sensor: Another potential cause of dripping could be a malfunctioning water level sensor. This sensor tells the washer when the tub is full and it's time to stop filling with water. If the sensor is faulty, it may not be accurately detecting the water level, which could lead to dripping. You may need to replace the water level sensor to fix the issue.
  3. Drain hose: If the washer is not properly draining, it could also lead to dripping after the cycle is complete. Check the drain hose for any kinks or clogs that could be preventing water from draining properly. You may need to clean out the drain hose or replace it if it's damaged.
  4. Overloading: If you're overloading the washer with too much laundry, it could be causing water to overflow and drip into the tub after the cycle is complete. Make sure you're following the manufacturer's guidelines for load size to avoid overloading the machine.
If you're unsure of how to diagnose or fix the issue, it may be best to consult a professional technician or reach out to the manufacturer for assistance.

Water is continually leaking into the tub from the inlets as a slow drip. This happens while the washer is off and continues forever unless the water supply is turned off. This is a stackable washer/dryer.

A defect in the water-inlet valve may mean that it's no longer able to shut off completely when the electricity has been turned off to it. If this occurs, the valve may leak and drip water into the clothes tub. In time, the water may accumulate substantially. If this happens, you need to replace the valve.

Water continues to drip into the tub even after all cycles have completed. my tub is filling up with water, I have turned off the water to the machine but it continues.

The water inlet valve needs to be replaced. It's not shutting off the water completely. It's located where the water hoses connect to the washer.

Water continously drips from somewhere under console into the tub

This assumes that you have a basic Kenmore / Whirlpool top load, direct drive, neutral drain (it doesn't spin until the pump removes most of the water) machine.

First, see the Sears parts site for your washer:
http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/index.action

Enter your model number (###.######) and you'll see a list of major sub-components with diagrams and parts.

Look at the components for the Rear Panel. It could be that your "Inlet Valve" is worn.

See the following for how to remove the cabinet:

And a diagram of the console with the inlet valve.

Following is a set of diagnostic troubleshooting tips for top load direct drive washers.

Water Level and Water continues to drip after cycle has ended.

The water dripping into the tub is caused by the fill valve solenoid not closing completely. The fix is to replace the fill valve. The overfilling of the washer is caused by the pressure switch. Over time the diaphram within the pressure switch becomes fatiqued & fails. The fix for this is to replace it as well... Hope this helps... Bill
