My washer doesn't pump out all the water after clean cycle

Remove all the trays and sprayers and such, and check the place where the water drains. See if anything is there, slowing down the drain function.

Loud sounds

Many Frigidaire dishwashers come with the promise of being the "quietest dishwasher in its class," according to Frigidaire. However, a quiet dishwasher doesn't necessarily mean that the dishwasher is silent, as some noises are normal. It can take some troubleshooting at times to determine if a noise coming from the dishwasher is typical or if it indicates a larger problem Listen for the sound of water filling and draining throughout the wash cycle. These sounds are normal and do not indicate an issue.

  • 2 Pay attention to the drain motor, which operates at the beginning of each cycle. This noise should be fairly quiet and should not sound like a loud, grinding or banging sound.
  • 3 Note that the sound will change when the wash cycle moves between the lower and middle spray arms. This sound should be temporary and fairly quiet.
  • 4 Look for hard items in the dishwasher grinder or filter if a loud crunching, buzzing or grinding sound is heard. The dishwasher can typically grind up these items within one or two cycles, but the item may be lifted out and discarded to eliminate the sound.
  • 5 Remove the bottom rack and spray arms from the bottom of the dishwasher if there is a loud noise coming from the dishwasher that does not resolve itself. Look inside for the impeller, which is round and spins. Remove any debris that may be clogging up the impeller or pump.

    Hello & Welcome to FixYa

Dishwasher not draining completely problem usually occurs due to clogged/blocked drain hose or the drain pump not working. First try to clean the drain hose and drain pump filter for any clogs, then check drain pump operation. If the problem returns after cleaning then it is the drain pump that needs replacement. Noisy drain pump on FDB635RF?

Two questions: 1) Are there filters that need to be cleaned on a routine basis with the FDB635RF? and 2) What causes the scum left behind on glasses and utensils? I use a rinse aid, but doesn't seem to be helping. This is a recent problem.

    Water remains in dish washer

there is a plastic screen in the bottom of the dishwasher towards the back under the tray you will need a 1/4 inch nut driver to remove it, in there are some cutting blades and a pull out cup that is a filter,, pull it out and clean it run the cycles and see if it doesn't drain,, if not your punp could be going bad,

    Loud vibrating/humming noise

Okay...based on the model number, this is a Frigidaire manufactured dishwasher. If you go to and type in the your model number in the Search menu, you will find a useful illustration under the "Motor and Pump" heading. The drain pump is listed as item #60 in the drawing. Before you go through any major dis-assembly, check to make sure the pump is securely in place and not loose. Sometimes the pump comes loose from the mounting bracket and vibrates. Also, sure nothing is laying against it causing vibration noises (I've seen this before). If the solution is not that simple, remove the spray arm assembly inside the dishwasher and inspect all the debris traps under the spray arm assembly. The wash pump and drain pump sumps are located here. Check to make sure there's nothing obstructing the input to the drain pump. Lastly, if all else fails, remove the drain pump and inspect the impeller. If the you've inspected everything and still have the noise problem, replace the drain pump. The motor could possible be failing. The part number on the Sears website is 154580301 and costs about $40. has the same part listed as item #1257094 for $37.50 if you wish to do some comparable pricing.

I hope this helps you. If you need further assistance, please post back and let me know.

PS Even the quietest of all dishwashers will make some noise. However, if it has gotten to the point where you can hear it in the next room, you probably need to inspect to find the source of the problem. This is not true with all dishwasher manufacturers, but in many cases, the only difference between your "Quiet-Pack" line and regular low-end models is added insulation behind the door and lower panel to help quieten noise.

    Dishasher does not drain

If it gravity drains, but the pump does not push out the water.......replace the drain pump. I just repaired an 8-year-old  Frigidaire dishwasher with this very problem, and although it sounded like the pump was operating, it was was just vibrating. I replaced the drain pump and it now works perfectly. I am a service tech with 38 years experience.
