Rio CE 2100 : insufficient space to index your content

HI, I have a Rio CE 2100. I deleted some old songs and add new ones, but when I disconnected it, it says "insufficient spatce for data base creation" and then it asks me if I want to delete songs and it says "insufficient space to index your content". So I went back and erase some songs on the computer but i keep telling me the same, and I also have 320 mg free in the MP 3. I think that it has enough free space, what can I do?

I would recommend wiping your player:

Windows only.... Please post if you are not using windows...

Open My Computer with your Rio plugged in.
Right click on your Rio carbon and click on format.
Leave the default values - if it asks you something then use your initiative.
Then click on format.
Then when it has finished formatting go to your firmware (can be downloaded from:
Follow the instructions and then it should load the firmware onto your player.
When it has done then your player should (in theory!) work properly.

Hope this helps

I pod touch while sincing new data, old is getting erased

Hi, I think you are using Itunes to Sync your IPOD-T.

If u r using Itunes Then u shouldn't delete any thing from ur ITUNES... Because, Sync is a option which will check the contents of your ipod and Itunes... If u erase anything from your itunes, then it will erase the same in ur IPod as well.... So U shouldn't delete anything from ur itunes....

Other option would be Manual Sync option... Where u have to drag and drop the contents from ur Itunes. Everytime....

Let me know, whether u want to manually add contents to ur ipod. so tat i can send u the settings?

ErrMsg "There is insufficient space to index your content."

Normally when you format the Rio it does not actually remove the firmware so this may not have done anything. I would advise upgrading to the 1.95 or 3.04 firmware and format then and see if this sorts the problem.

Hope this helps,

Computer doesn't recognize songs on the player

Go to disc utility and click on erase volume, then you will be able to add new songs. Unfortunately, as far as I can tell, you may have to delete the entire volume and start over.

I can not acess the Rio Database to add new tracks or remove old tracks via the Rio Music Manager

Have you always used this on NT? I would suggest: 1-Upgrade to win2k 2-go to and install the latest music manager.

Insufficient space to index your content

I would suggest going to the rio site, Downloading the latest version of the rio music manager. See if,once the manager is loaded, you can access your music. What OS did you load? Are you using MS indexer or Google?

RIO ce2100

Try this and let me know if it works: Plug the player into the computer (by the USB cable obviously), open your Rio Music Manager, go to "Tools", "Synchronization options". Then create a "synchronization profile" as instructed. As you progress through the instructions, your second preferrence to edit is called "content deletion". This is where you can tell your player to NEVER delete your music. (Choose "never" from the dropdown menu). Then follow the rest of the steps, answering the other questions as you prefer. Hopefully this will prevent your player from losing songs you've already downloaded.
