The 2005 Chevy Avalanche is available with different transmission and shift options, which can affect the number of transmission shift solenoids present.
However, generally, the 4-speed automatic transmission (4L60E) used in the 2005 Chevy Avalanche typically has a total of 7 transmission shift solenoids. These solenoids are used to control the activation and deactivation of the transmission's clutches and valves, allowing the vehicle to shift gears smoothly and seamlessly.
It's important to note that the number of transmission shift solenoids may vary depending on the year, model, and configuration of the Chevy Avalanche. >
The vehicle is now a decade old, and I'll wager that the window regulators have never been greased. GREASE THEM. You'll need to remove the door panels, clean all tracks and pivots, add lithium grease to all tracks, and use penetrating oil to lubricate all pivots. You really should grease the motor gear as well. DO THIS BEFORE YOU BURN THE MOTORS OUT, as that is what will happen next if you don't lubricate the mechanisms.
from pictures I'm seeing, it looks like it's next to the blower. Remove the insulating panel above the passenger's feet and look up. See if it looks like the picture below:
Possible HVAC blend door motor skipping over the gear drive due to a jammed blend door. Also it could be valve train noise in the engine, I would need to hear it really.
Check power steering fluid level. Power steering pump provides hydraulic assistance to you brakes. if the level is low, add fluid and check if there is a leak somewhere. If the level is OK, suspect a bad power steering pump. Hope it will help Dan
