My developmentally disabled stepson played with computer; not sure how he shut it off, but it will not turn on at all now. Plugged in, unplugged it, plugged it back in, repeatedly pressed power button, nothing. Tried ''Shift-Control-Option-On'' and still nothing.

- Thanks for the suggestion, but still no go. The machine is just not getting any power--the power light is not coming on. And no, he wouldn't have spilled anything into it.
-   I am having the same problem on my iBook G4. I tried to remove the battery and no success for power. how could i check the power converter? I do notice that the light turns orange as i move the connector.
Hi, Sorry to hear you are having problems,
OK, let's try this, #1, remove the battery, be sure the mac is powered down and the power cord is connected to the Mac and a power outlet.
Press firmly down on the power on button for a solid second then release it.
That should start it up.
If it does work, you can safely insert the battery now operate the mac normally...
If this does not work, is it possible that your stepson eh, may have spilt some liquid into or on the Mac? A small amount of saliva in the wrong place could Kill a mac.... Just a thought..
Have you considered that your laptop just might have died and your stepson being developmentally disabled or not had nothing to do with it, just a a disabled persons thought.
