Upgrade my E160G modem to 7.2mbps

-   If your E160G modem stops working (blue light keeps going off) it is possible that the USB connector is broken away fro the circuit board inside.
This happened on one of mine. It is cause by repeated bending of the modem, typically if you use it in a laptop on your lap.
The failure is mechanical at the USB connector-to-PCB solder joint, which explains why the modem can be made to work again by moving it around or holding it at a particular angle.
It can be easily fixed if you know someone who can solder, otherwise it will have to be returned to the phone company. -   wurple

-   Hi my name is Linda Higgins and i have a broadband to go it call E160G modem and my speed is 3.6Mbps and i am having problem with the modem is keep knocking off the light and everytime i use the internet and email and the blue light keep knocking off the broadband modem and i wonder would i want to upgrade the firmware to support speed of up 7.2mbps and will you email me and my email address is linda.higgins803@upcmail.ie and i do get very frustrated over the modem keep on saying connect every few minute the blue light keep knocking off on the modem and i need your help and i am from Dublin Ireland and i need your help how to go through it i am very good on the computer and i am registers with 3 and my is Huawei E160G white modem i have bought it in 3g Stores in Dublin. please provide me with your help and i am partially deaf and special need person so email me back and looking forward to hear from you Linda higgins -   Guest
