Question about Panasonic TH-50PHD8UK 50 in. Plasma Television

Input/Output Connections Hi all! This model doesn't seem to have component video connection jacks on the back nor does it seem to have regular video input jacks (the place of the jacks are there but no jacks). Is this normal? If so, how can I get this display unit configure so I can get component and video input accessibility?

Re: Input/Output Connections

This model Panasonic is a monitor. Component video, S-Video, and audiio connection ports are on the bottom of the unit. Once the unit is wall mounted you can hardly see them, hidden behind the front leading edge of the case. Two speaker connection terminals are found
slightly above the bottom edge at extreme left and right. The main power button is also on the bottom left.

The answers provided didn't help. I am not using HDMI, just regular RCA plugs. I need to know what settings I need on my TV?

Using RCA plugs, you could be using one of two types of connection. There is the old standard Yellow, Red, and White jacks, which are Video, Right Audio, and Left Audio respectively, or you could be using the newer Y-Pb-Pr Video Jacks with their respective Red and White Audio connections. Since you are not telling us what model(s) of set and player you are using, we can only guess at the exact options you have. That said, I will assume you are using the three-cable hookup rather than the five cable one. Unless you inadvertently hooked the cables on the back of the DVD player to the input rather than the output connections, in most cases what you claim to have done should work. You may want to see if the DVD player has a TV/DVD button on its remote; sometimes these will override the DVD output and connect the TV input connections to the output. If you don't have your TV box (or antenna) routed thru the DVD player, if that were the case you would get the no-signal result.

Can I connect a vcr to the cable jack on my flat panel tv?

If you are sure the VCR is having valid output, this could be a problem with the interconnect cables. If the cables and VCR have been verified to be okay, then the fault could be with the input matrix circuits in the TV set. A simpler form of this problem could be with the input connector, or the solder connections, or a trace on the board.

Sometimes the main input IC goes defective or one of its support components. In these sets the components are mainly surface mount types. Normally, the service centre will change the complete circuit board containing the input circuits.

How do I connect my PS3 to my sanyo dp50747 in hdmi? I have everything hooked up correctly, but its not coming up on the TV. What do I do?????

If you see a no signal message, then it means that the signal output format of the PS3 does not match . It happens if you have previous used it on another tv and now connected it to a different tv. To resolve this, turn off the PS3 . Press and hold the power button on the PS3 till you hear three BEEPS. The PS3 should automatically detect the tv's resolution and the initial setup screen should appear. After that you should just follow on-screen instructions to set it up.

When I try to play a dvd through my sony bravia, it comes in black and white. No matter what I do on resetting the factory specs, it stays black and white

Check and RE-SEAT the VIDEO connections on BOTH the DVD Player output jacks and TV input jacks (re-seating means remove and replug). Poor connections can cause this, especially if using RBG cables. Make sure DVD R (red) is connected the TV R (red), and the same holds true for G (green) and B (blue) jacks & cables. The G & B cables & jacks can look very similar in dim light. Do the same thing even if using HDMI or SVGA cables.

I hope this helps & good luck!

How to connect samsung dvd to samsung tv

Follow these steps: Component Video Connection 1. Get a component video cable. This cable has 3 sets of connectors, one each for the red, blue and green color signals.
2 Match the connectors to the appropriate video output jacks on the DVD player. Component video outputs will normally be labeled Cr/Cb/Cy. The Cy output jack is matched to green, Cr to red and Cb to blue.
3 Run the cable from DVD player to the TV. Most TV connections are made from the back panel, but this may vary.
4 Match the connectors to the appropriate video input jacks on the TV.
If using S-Video Connection
1 Get an S-video cable. This cable has a single round connector with 4 pins.
2 Attach one end of the S-video cable to the S-video output jack on the DVD player.
3 Attach the other end to the S-video input jack on the TV.
Composite Video Connection 1 Get a composite video cable. These types of cables are frequently bundled with two-channel audio cables. Composite video cables are tipped with yellow plugs.
2 Plug one end of the composite video cable into the composite video output jack on your DVD player.
3 Plug the other end into the composite video input jack on your TV.

Its not broken or nothin i was wondering how to put the input for cabel from cable/sat to colorstream hD1

Cable boxes or satellite receivers typically only come with audio/video output, RF output, and component output. You need an upgraded one which has the Hdmi output jack. The upgraded box will cost you a service fee around $5-10 a month, so if you don't want to pay to receive the 1080p service you can receive 720p by using the component video output leads from your cable box.

The quality is almost as good. The only difference will be that you won't be able to receive the hi-def channels that the cable company offers.
