My well keeps tripping the breaker but when I run power from the breaker straight to the pump the pump runs fine. I have replaced the disconnect box located at the well but everytime I hook it back up the breaker trips but does not trip with the box disconnected. Pump is not hooked up at the box during this.

Move wires to another same-size breaker.
Use nose and ears to listen for crackling and burning at circuit breaker.
See if breakers feel warm.

SOURCE: breaker keeps tripping

If the breaker itself is more than 15 years old, replace it. If it continues to switch off, check the amp draw of both the inside and outside unit.

SOURCE: my ac circuit breaker keep tripping

If your outside condenser has a locked rotor or short circuit, than the unit WILL trip the breaker - as it should. On the other hand if a breaker is tripped a few times it will have less of a capacity that the rating, (this is designed in it). You will need to determine if the unit is locked (and broken) or the breaker has become too sensitive.

SOURCE: Amana Heat Pump Tripping Breaker

My guess I would say, you either have a wire that is short to ground or if the contacter pulls in, then I would say the compresser is short to ground. There also could be some capacitors that could be short.

I have the M3F72-3. It keeps tripping the breakers. When I turn the freezer off, the breakers still trip. When I unplug the freezer, the breakers are fine.

Replace breaker first. breakers get fatigued and will trip easier as they get older. most hardware stores will have the breaker, costs can be 10.00-80.00 , look on the box door for your brand (square D etc.) Trip the main breaker and use meter to make sure no power to the panel. use flat screwdriver to remove breaker where it meets the breaker next to the one your removing, don't force to hard as you may damage the good one next to the one you are removing. Use narrow straight blade or some screws have the square tip #2, #3 , loosen screw till wire comes out. reverse directions to install. if new breaker trips then your freezers electrical components drawing to many amps,,,defective, worn out or damaged compressor electrical parts.

You need to check the current rating of your heat strips. If it is more than 60 amps then you need a bigger breaker. If 60 amps or less then your heat strips are going bad. Also make sure your fan turns smoothly without any wobble.

What's youI just wired in my J-300 Jacuzzi hot tub. The GFI trips every time I reset it. I took the GFI out of the equation and the tub runs fine, does not trip the breaker at the main breaker box

#1. DO NOT GET INTO TUB FULL OF WATER WITH A GROUND FAULT.
2. There is a short. You need to get multimeter and start checking each part for current running to ground wire.
3) Power is ON. Connect power without GFCI.
4) Tape tester leads to wood sticks to keep hands away from power.
5) Do not touch anything directly or you will become the ground rod.
6) Ground wire must be present, and bonded back to main panel box.
7) Do not sit or touch directly on cement or bare ground. Do not touch or lean into anything made of metal.
8) Body and parts must be on sheet of plywood, or similar non-conductive dry surface.
9) Test each part with spa, but also test electric line coming from main box.
10) GFCI will also trip with any fault detected on line. So the wire coming to spa may have the fault.
11) Add a new dedicated line from main box to spa.

Furnace keeps tripping the breaker changed breaker and wires all good up to the furnace still keeps tripping when i try to turn power on. nothing happened to the furnace and the wires were tested up to the...

Disconnect the black power wire where it is connected to the furnace with breaker off. Put a wire nut on it and then turn the breaker on. If it continues to trip, the problem is not the furnace and you will have to trace the power wire back to the breaker box to find problem. Next, disconnect the black wire from the breaker (with breaker off) and then snap breaker on. If it trips, bad breaker. If the furnace was disconnected and breaker did not trip, you have a short either on the P C Board or the transformer.

My pool sweep had been doing fine. Now the new pump seems to be dragging as if it is running on half power and the sweep crawls slowly. The pump gets hot and shuts off. The pool filter pump on the left...

My opinion is that new pump is defective.

You posted under Intermatic pool timer.
The timer will not have any effect on the new pump overheating.

Insufficient wiring can cause new pump to overheat.
However if wiring is undersized, and/or if both pumps are turned ON at same time, the circuit breaker would get hot and trip.

Instead of the breaker tripping, your new pump is getting hot, and turning off.
Remember, any pump that slows down and overheats is getting damaged.
Replace the defective pump.

We recently had a power cut since then our spa has not gone it keeps tripping circut breaker, have tried powertools in socket and they work fine, it does run for about 5 secs b4 tripping? thanks

If it ran fine on the breaker before then you probably need to buy and install a new breaker. The don't cost much so you should try that. Good luck!

Pump trips breaker

If the seals are damaged, water will leak into motor section and cause GFI to trip and yet the pump will seem that it is running fine if plugged into a non-GFI receptacle
