Is the battery a Genuine Lenovo replacement? Some aftermarket battery don't work well with the Laptop, usually inexpensive, bootlegs/copies. The pin-outs aren't correct, at best don't work, at worst, COULD be a fire hazard. Have you tried another Cord/Charger with the Exact same power specs? Has there been any damage to the AC jack due to pulling on the cord while plugged in? Return the battery for a refund, try a genuine Lenovo replacement.

Testimonial: "thanx for yo help max i decided to return the battery because the charger is working well"

I bought a new battery for laptop and it still wont charge

Dell uses proprietary equipment. IF the laptop wont work when plugged in and it is the original Dell charger, you need to check the charger, if the charger wont work then the battery wont charge. Note that it might be the connection on the board inside the laptop especially if the cord got pulled on while plugged into the laptop.

Hi, I bought Acer4741Z from India on September 2010............now, when i charge the laptop, it shows 52% charging and it wont go till 100 %. Any solution for this............pls help..............

When you first bought the laptop did you fully charge the battery for at least 20-24 hours before use? To ensure the lifespan of your laptop battery is long you will need to follow these easy steps:

1) Charge the battery at least 20 hours before use.
2) Completely drain battery power before you charge it again.
3) Try not to have the laptop battery plugged in if you re going to use AC directly from the wall socket.

You may need to purchase a new battery as this one's lifespan seems to have been reduced as it can only hold 52% charge. When you purchase another follow the above steps.

Battery doesn't stay charged

The problem is with the battery. All Lithium batteries last for around 1000 charges or so. Since the laptop is 2-years old the battery needs to be replaced.
I Hope this solves your problem. Kindly Accept my solution.

My laptop battery won't charge

possible when the old AC adapter blew it took part of the power management circuit with it, This is the circuit that detects and charges the battery, I'm not sure whether this a seperate replaceable daughter card or whether it is part of the main motherboard. you will need to investigate this (or send it for a service)
