I've had this player for a while now, but it just recently stopped working. When I try to power it on I just get the phillips logo and then it powers off (checked the batteries, it's not that, removing them doesn't help either). I tried to update it's firmware with the phillips device manager by connecting it with my pc, but when I do so no device shows up as connected to my usb port(it was working before) and the player freezes on "ok to disconnect". I can't find any reset switch and removing batteries doesn't help.

To reload drivers:
WARNING: this process will erase all songs off the GoGear.
Disconnect the GoGear from computer.
Turn the GoGear off.
Hold in the volume + button.
Reconnect the GoGear while holding in the volume + button.
Continue holding the volume + button.
After 5-50 seconds, Windows will pop-up a "Found New Hardware Wizard." - complete the wizard (BTW, you can take your hand ff the volume + button now).

Your player might hang up. Use a pen tip or other sharp object to insert the RESET hole gently on the side of the player and connect it again to your PC.
If it is still not recognized, your player may be at fault. Try the Philips Device Manager software and repair device with it.
Contents will be removed by using the repair function.
