This amp is hours old. Just got it in the mail tonight. I swapped my ''working'' Rockford amp for this on. The second I turn it on it goes into protection mode. So I troubleshoot. First I create a new clean ground then check the speaker wire, then the rca's...everything good. Just for the heck of it I change out the rca''s...still same problem.
I can get the amp to work...but in order to do that...I have to trick the amp...what I do( with the headunit turned off) is unplug the rca wires from the amp. I then power the headunit up..including the amps. I then plug the rca wires back into the amp while the amp is already on...this is the only way I can get the amp to work. But I have to repeat the process every time the car is turned off. The wiring is good. I threw the rockford amp back in and it functions properly and also tried a pioneer amp I had laying aroud...and both worked like a dream...how can I fix this amp?
OK try this little trick i have to resort to on Saturday afternoons when the shop is about to close and i have a date who works in the adult entertainment industry.... AAhheeemmm..
1. Does your amp have a high input port? This is where instead of RCA's you feed it speaker output from your head unit?
2 If so try this and see if the magic happens.. If it doesn't your screwed and the problem is internal most likely in the input stage and that's why your having to "fool" the amp.
3. Also take off the remote turn on wire and make a short little jumper from the remote turn on to the B+ on the amp. Yeah the amp will blaze on but see if it changes the output. I know it sounds crazy but after 26 years working with this stuff i know where the gremlins hang out... Especially Rockford .
godd luck. let me know

The amp likely has a manufacturing defect. Send it back for a replacement.
