Phonic XP5000 problems clip ligth coming on and killing input
Hey i have got a Phonic Xp5000 and the clip ligth comes on with a little or no load and kills the input signal then goes out signal comes back and does this constantly any help with this matter would be great
sorry for the long responce thanks for that info these units are brand new out of the box and they even do that without speakers plug into the outputany idea what you think it mite be ?sorry for the long responce thanks for that info these units are brand new out of the box and they even do that without speakers plug into the outputany idea what you think it mite be ?
The clip lights on the front could be the built in protection kicking in. When the protection kicks in, it lights up and stops output, the unit then needs to be switched off and back on to regain output.
What configuration are you using it in ie.
-stereo, parallel, bridge?
-what is your load per channel? 8ohm, 4ohm, 2ohm?
-have you got the limiters assigned on both channels via DIP switch?
-is the signal going to the amp healthy (not too hot)?
-check for breaks or crushing on the speaker cables that may be shorting out?
If it isn't something basic, I think Phonic have a long warranty on their gear. So if you brought it new then ring up the dealer and check with if its covered.
Good luck

Don't buy a Phonic XP5000 similar to the Crown XLS5000. Probably share the same problems. I tried three XP5000 that all had the same problem.CheersRob UeberfeldtKaikohe New Zealand

The clip LED normally means you are overworking the channel and it is going into protection mode. Make sure and the cables and connectors as clean and have no stray wires from grounding.
You could contact the maker?

The M6 has balanced XLR outputs on the back, which can be connected directly to the XLR inputs on the back of the Phonic Max 2500. You just need two XLR cables.
Which inputs are you using? If you are using the 2T RTN, you will need to engage the 2T RTN button under CONTROL ROOM SOURCE and engage ASSIGN TO MAIN.

This mixer has a multi-effects processor onboard, but the key is understanding the audio signal chain.
There is a chance that you have your input audio going through an undesired effect, but without knowing your setup (input source, connections, mixer settings), it would be difficult to pinpoint the problem.
This is an indication that the startup checks have failed. This usually occurs when the outputs are bad. Without seeing the unit and taking internal measurements, I can't really give you more specifics. I'd bring this to a service shop for a repair estimate. Report the results here and we should be able to walk you through the actual repair.
if the input signal is very low check output cables for good condition and no wires from cables touch the amp chassis--no touching between each cables-check each speakers one by one to isolate the trouble-if everything is ok and you still get overload protection you must pass it to service center.
You don't specify which model Phonic mixer in question.
Is it a powered mixer ? And are you plugging your speakers into the speaker outputs ? If it's not a powered mixer and you're plugging speakers into the Line Outputs, you're not using a power amplifier between the line outputs and your speakers - this won't work.
If it is a powered mixer and you are plugging speakers into the speaker output connectors and still getting little or no sound, check your speaker cables and the speakers themselves by plugging them into known good amps.
