Question about Microsoft Basic Keyboard 1.0A PS/2 KEMIBA

I got "USB is not recognised" when plug in microsoft basic keyboard 1.0a

I 've tried many time with window VISTA ultimate and XP professional as well but useless.As first, i think it conflict with local keyboard then uninstall it but it got same error after restart.Give me some solution,plz.

Is your motherboard got the usb keyboard enabled in bios this maybe your problem if you have devices pluged in remove from board and plug usb keyboard into the first usb slot this is on bottom near ps2 slots see if this resolves problem. hope all goes well

Make sure that all USB functionality is enabled in the BIOS, especially USB Legacy Mode. If Windows still does not recognize the keyboard, then it is not compatible with USB. USB keyboards can be found as low as $10 pretty easily if all you need is basic keyboard functions.

When working on my computer Optiplex 745 Windows XP professional the optical mouse becomes non operative (no response, no red light). If I shut down and restart the computer it is fine.

Make sure the HDD jumper is set to master and see whether it helps.
If not the HDD is not recognised by the PC. Also make sure the connections between the HDD and mother board.

· Try a different HDD an

Can't enter windows password to install new keyboard .

are you using ps/2 or using USB?
try to use a ps/2 (round plug). plug it first then trun off the PC. it should not ask for password.

Worked when I powered down my pc now it does not - happened before

a bad chip in the keyboard usually causes this problem. Replacing your keyboard with a new one is the thing to do

As long as you can plug it into the laptop, it should recognize the keyboard straight away. With a laptop in mind make sure you get the usb version of the keyboard (that is if your laptop is modern enough to have usb ports).

Hi If you do not have the CD that came with the key board you can go to there web site and get them from there altrnativly if you look in side program files on your hard drive and find the folder that IPaq is in you may find the files for your hardwear there failing all that if you have windows XP OR Windows Vista just disconect your keyboard turn of your PC and start you pc without your keyboard pluged in when you hear a bleep plug your key board into the USB port and you PC will recognise your hardwear and find the information that it needs to start up your keyboard
