I have an iomega hdd2 1 tb hd which has a lot of graphic files on it and it stopped working one day.
Trued removing it and rebooting then hooking it up again. Nothing.
It is connected with a Firewire 800.

This is very bizzare!
The firewire chip may have bit the dust. Open finder, and go to applications, then utilities. Open Disk Utility and see if you can see the drive there. If you can, verify and repair the drive using disk utility and see if the problem goes away.
