Manual how to reset chrono second hand

Pull the crown out to the first position, and then you may find that successive pushes of the upper pushbutton will move one of the chrono hands by one division, and the lower pushbutton will move a different chrono hand. Similarly if you pull the crown out to the second position, the pushbuttons will control the other chrono hands. In this way you can set each of the chrono hands to their zero positions. Hope this works..

The small bottom dial is seconds counter and there is no option to set or reset it as it is part of the main gear train - it just counts the seconds. Top right dial is 1/10 seconds counter and runs only when the chronograph function is engaged. One full circle indicates 1 second. Top left dial is 30 minutes counter and runs only when the chronograph function is engaged. One full circle indicates 30 minutes, two circles = 1 hour. The big centre seconds hand is actually Chronograph hand and runs only when the chrono function is engaged. So, the chronograph hand and two top dials works all together when chrono function is engaged. To start chrono: push upper button once. To stop chrono: push upper button again (once). To return all hands to zero: push lower button once. There is another option: if you already stopped chrono by pushing upper button, but want to continue counting without returning hands to zero, push the upper button once more and the counting will start from the point where it stopped. You can repeat this as many as you wish - it will count on and on, till you will stop it and reset to zero. Fine tuning of chrono hands can be made by pulling the crown half way out and while leaving in this position pushing and holding one of the push buttons (which one - depends on movement caliber). Pull the crown out as if to set the time then press the chrono pusher,this will advance the chrono hand.

mcdevito75 here, Just a guess but here goes, start the chrono, now stop the chrono, the button you used to stop the chrono, press it again to retun to zero. Hope this helps.

Try the following, which I discovered by accident on my Tag Professional. This is chronometer that's need reset. Tachymeter is usually located on bezel or inclined ring and is used for speed calculations of moving object over the given period of time. Ok, back to your chrono hand resetting. Pull out crown and then push the upper button and hold it. The chrono hand should start move and you should be able to adjust it. If this doesn't work, try the same with lower button. When adjusted - push the crown back in. In fact there are very many variations how to reset chrono hand, but exact advise can be given if the movement caliber of particular watch is known.

A. SETTING THE TIME
1. Pull the crown out to position “3” (See diagram). If the crown has
a “screw-down” lock, then unscrew the crown lock first by turning
the crown toward you, then pull it to position “3”. Do not forget to
screw the crown back “IN” after all setting is completed.
2. Turn the crown towards you (hands moves clockwise) until the
date changes at approximately midnight.
3. Continue turning the hour and minute hands to the correct time.
If it is afternoon you must go past 12 o’clock again (noon) to set
the correct time.
4. When the correct time is set,push crown back to position “1”.
B. SETTING THE DATE
1. Pull crown to position “2”(See proceeding diagram).The watch
will continue to run.
2. Turn the crown away from you until the correct date appears.
3. Once the date is set, push the crown back to position “1”.
Note: Do NOT set the date between the hours of 8:00 PM and
3:00 AM.This would not damage the watch,but the date may need
to be reset later.
C. CHRONOGRAPH (CHRONO) ADJUSTMENT
If the chrongraph second hand is not positioned at the proper
starting position (12 o’clock or “zero” position), use the below
procedure.It does not need to be repeated unless the watch
receives an impact sufficient to move the hand out of position, or
the Battery has been changed.
1. Pull crown out to position “3”.
2. Push button “A” to move the Chrono Second hand (long hand) to
the “0” or 12 o’clock position. Each button push will move the
hand one step – BUT holding the button down will advance the
hand rapidly.
3. Push crown back to position “1”.
D. USING THE CHRONOGRAPH (CHRONO)
Note: The maximum chrono reading is 60 minutes, However the
chrono will continue running once 60 minutes has passed. The
resulting one hour periods may be added together mentally to keep
track of longer periods.
For example – If you know that approximately one hour has
passed since you started the chronograph, and the chrono reads
25 minutes, then you know that the chrono has been running 60
minutes plus 25 minutes, which is one hour and 25 minutes.
1. Push Button “A” to start the chronograph. Push button “A” again
to stop the chronograph.
2. Push button “B” to return the two chronograph hands to the
“Zero” or starting point.
3. The Chronograph can be stopped and started again
(Button “A”), repeatedly, to “ADD” times together.

Solution #3 (Posted by Guest on 5 Mar 08) is spot on. Quick and easy method to reset the chrono hands (it was not in my Seiko manual).
Interestingly, this can also be used to set the chrono ahead (or behind--with a little math) for offset timing measurements.

If you have your instruction manual it should tell you how to reset the chrono. i have the Luminox 8352 and it says to pull the crown out to the 3rd position. then press and hold both the start/stop and lap/reset buttons for a couple of seconds. you'll see the second hand rotate, then you can single click the start/stop button to manually move the second hand 1 second, or you can hold it and it will continue move for a longer period until time desired. if you need to adjust the other chrono hands, click the lap/reset button and then you can click the start/stop button again. repeat for the minute/hour chrono hand. when you're finished push the crown back in. it might work even though it's a different model, worth a shot? hope that helps. these are really great watches.
