Do you have a recovery disk?
Insert the recovery disc, (if auto run starts up, just close it)
Go to Start>Run and type cmd and hit enter.
In the DOS command window, type sfc /SCANNOW and hit enter.
That will check your Windows files against the Windows files on the
disc. If it finds corrupted or missing ones, it will repair or replace
them. You will not lose any data or files this way. (If it will accept
the disc again)
I had the same problem recently, what I did was remove the ethernet card then boot up the computer and then power it down, what this does is saves all the settings. Then I reinstalled the ethernet card and did not plug the ethernet cord in yet, after the computer was completely booted up then plug in the cable. if the window pops up asking to install the driver then click on install from a specific location, then try the one that says I will choose the driver, and look for network adaptor and try it and see if it works. if not then see if you can find a model number on the card and I can probably locate the driver for you. Thanks
