my powershot A610 will not power on. what happens is the green power light flashes on for a second but no matter what the setting, it immediately turns off. i've checked the batteries in other gadgets, and they are working fine. the lens does not appear to be obstructed by anything, and i've wiped off the connectors to the positive and negative battery nodes. this camera has not been dropped and is fairly lightly used considering i've had it for three years. i had no problems the last time i used it, though that was probably about 2 months ago. thanks
-   When I switch on power of A610 camera,It just on for a second then disappears.I checked batteries & terminals .Everything is fine. Is there any solution for this? Please suggest me. -   Guest

when i turn it on to take a picture, no picture shows on the lcd monitor screen and no picture is taken except just a black/blank picture. Set to Auto and Flip mode switch to review and you can see previous pictures taken just fine and the current pictures show black. Batteries are good, flash works, and zoom works.

great camera - but only had it 3 years and flash not working now. Salesman at London Drugs, where we bought it from, says not worth repairing. I find this hard to believe - very expensive for only 3 years working!!
