Problem for GE GSL22JFPBS Side by Side Refrigerator

GE Side by Side (3 yrs Old): Freezer iced up, refrig not cooling

Freezer gets iced up and needs defrosting. I've turned it off and cleared the ice, but in a day or so the ice forms again.

The auto defrost isn't working. I there a way to repair this myself?

If I need a part, is it easy to install?

Most GE defrost problems are bad defrost thermostat and defrost heater.
It requies removing the back wall panel on the inside of the freezer to access the parts.

- Replace both of these. Otherwise you will be back in there in a few weeks replacing the other one anyway.
