You just look in the eyepiece.
It is made to measure flatness of reflective optics.
So, your test part has to reflect light, either bare glass or
coated mirror.
To see the fringes you use the knobs to adjust the light beam.
The rotating lens in from is used for coarse alignment.

Hello,

You have two things to check.

1. Drivers
2. Hardware

You can just easily fix the software (drivers) side of the computer. Try scanning the drivers with RadarSync and you will know whether or not they are updated to the latest version. Having outdated drivers causes a lot of problems.

For the hardware part, you can try resetting the connection between your monitor and the computer. If you can't figure that out, then you need to bring it to a technician to get it serviced. It might be a loose wiring.

Is the screen of the computer a hardware or software ?

This sounds like homework.

It is hardware. hardware is physical things like keyboard, monitor, hard drives , memory etc
software is the stuff that is easily copied like games and operating system. the cds and dvds they are on is hardware though.

Installed Vista, screen goes green and won't accept full installation..monitor is the only thing that left to check as everything else has been repaired or replaced

it is highly unlikely to be monitor if you can't install. It will be more likely hardware or corrupt disc. remove all but essential devices and add in cards then try installing. Was the hard drive something you replaced or the motherboard?, could be corrupt hard drive or motherboard.

I have just reinstalled windows on my pc and the resolution isn't the same. The image is too large. I have been told I need to download something from dell so my cpu will recognise my monitor, what do I...

Hi,

Since you have reinstalled your Operating system you will need to reinstall the Drivers for your Video card, sound card, Modem and other hardwares. You need to install drivers for each and every hardware in your computer. Windows has inbuilt drivers for most of the common hardwares like mouse keyboard modem etc. but for some specific hardwares like Sound card Graphic card, Network card etc. for which Windows cannot load the drivers on its own, we have to install them.
Driver is a set of program which helps your hardware to communicate with the Operating system (e.g: Windows).

For your Dell Monitor E153FP you can download the required drivers from the following site:

http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/download.aspx?releaseid=R76072&formatcnt=1&libid=0&fileid=99367

Hope this information is helpful to you.

Dell monitor black screen

If you have another monitor for desktop hook other monitor up then under hardware and software in control panel, add the dell monitor, then hook it up. Some operating systems need the driver to be added first. My brother almost threw away agood dell lcd monitor before I told him this, now he loves the lcd, works great.

I have a compaq hp hardrive trying to install a sylvania 19" Flat screen there is power to the screen but no picture. whta do i need to do to get it running

The first thing to do is to make sure all cables are plugged in tight, all of the power cables and the cable to the pc. This seems to be too simple but it fixes the problem most of the time.

If the monitor still doesn't come on you have to determine which component is not working.

To determine if the monitor works then plug it into a computer that is known to work. If the monitor comes on then it works. again very simple but thorough. If the monitor does not work then you have a bad monitor.

To determine if there is a problem with the computer then plug in a monitor in that you know works. If you still do not get an image on the screen then the component in the PC is broken. If you get an image then something is wrong with your new monitor.

Monitor

Monitor sizes are measured on the diagonal from corner to corner.

A 17" LCD may have a screen width of 12 inches measured from side to side.

If you are measuring a old style CRT monitor (Cathode Ray tube) the visible screen area will be about an inch less as there is about 1/2 inch of plastic frame holding the CRT in the chassis. The manufacturer can advertise the actual size of the screen regardless of how much is actually visible to display information.

If you are talking about software not utilizing all the available screen area to display the image, that is an issue with the people writing the software code not keeping up with the changes in hardware.

In the past year or two, most displays have switched to the 16:9 and 16:10 wide aspect ratios while most web content is still written for the 4:3 old style aspect ratio. Eventually, software developers will catch up with cusrrent hardware.

Unable to install my monitor;no sound, grainy graphics...

You need to install drivers for all your hardware (video card, sound card, modem, etc..) Drivers are a piece of software that tells the computer how to use hardware components, they contain all the instructions a computer needs to turn on and use the components. Do you have a driver disc that came with these parts or the computer itself? If not the only thing I can tell you is find out the make and model of the hardware components, then visit the manufactures web sites for the drivers. Without drivers you computer dosn't know how to operate hardware properbly or at all. It needs them.
