Question about Maytag MSD2756G Side by Side Refrigerator
It has been having problems. It went from making great and a lot of ice, to hollow ice and now none. I tried turning the setting up, down mid=-way, everything. I called Engles in Fort Smith, arkansas and they said to call whirlpool; but did not know the phone #..Didn't whirlpool buy out Maytag? I called several repair men and they said they have never completed fixing a maytag ice maker.. Help. Sherry (wilmoth) nickname)
Hollow ice would suggest poor water flow due to a blocked water filter, check the water flow before and after the filter, make sure you flush the water line out before fitting a new filter. Cheers Colin

Hollow ice is a sign of not enough water going into tray. Replace the water inlet valve or the fill and shut-off valve for problems with both parts. Hollow ice cubes usually indicate a low water problem. This is generally the result of an excess buildup of calcium and other deposits.Replace the self-piercing shut-off valve with a drill-type shut-off valve.Drill a 1/4-inch hole into the pipe and installs the shut-off valve the same way you would have installed the self-piercing valve.
