Re: Counter reset for a press of each record

It brings to mind that the drum is not picking up the time code track from the previous pass nor is it able to lay down a new suitable track. Have you tried a dry type cleaning tape? It sounds like you have a clogged head. Other possiblities will involve repair. Drum connection problems can occur for instance. If you are using maxell tape you have a higher percentage of possible cleaning issues. Good luck, magic seadog

How do you reset the counter when shooting video?

The resetting of the counter is not a problem. As a matter of fact you can not reset it because it is meant to be continuous as long as the video is the same. However there is way around it. After recording your first part when you want to reset you go to 'play'. You play forward for less than a second and stop. When you go back to record the camera resets itself and thinks its starting a new video. It goes back to 000. You keep on doing this when you want to reset again. Normally in professional circles the time code should be continuous for editing with professional Non linear editing software that's why the cameras do not reset the time code. But you can get along the way I have told you here for your purpose.

Once you turn off the camera and remove the batter, does it power on and if you press the off button does it go off ?

Try this

You need to know in which position was camera turned of.
So try turning it on in RECORD OR PLAY position.
It will work then...

Please re-operate after pushing reset button

Just push the "reset" button and try again. The reset button is next to the EJECT button. You will need something small to push it in.

"menu" button not working-wont record or play back tapes

when the light flashes it means that there is an error definetly.
turn the menu button on off position first and remove the battery.
reinsert battery and turn on recording mode.
Try to remove the tape and reinsert it and see if the operating light is clear.
let me know if the functionality is restored.

Playback problems - timer stays at zero

Firewire transfer problem with PV-GS320. HAd bought the PV-GS90 and ran into significant transfer issues importing to Mac (iMovie and Fincal Cut Express HD both had problems). Upgraded to GS320 as Macworld rated it highly. Same problems: video plays back perfectly with no computer connection. once connected, video and audio stutter, go out of sync, sometimes just stop and/or crash the program.

I've used a borrowed Canon GL with this Mac before with no issues, so I suspect the camera. Have tried reset button, trashing preferences, restarts, the works. still can't get clean video to transfer from a brand new camera. Any Ideas?
