Hi there.
There's not much difference between the two processors.
The AMD has a slightly higher clock speed and is a very stable processor.
The Intel processor are known to run hot so cooling is an issue, but overall Intel are leading the way with dual core processors at the moment.
Have a look at the AMD Phenom 2 processor as they are apparently very good.

Good luck and thanks for using FixYa!!

    Hi again.
I can't give you precise benchmark comparison between the 2 processors because they are rated with different graphics cards, motherboards and memory.
To give you a better idea of what you want from the processors have a look here >>>>

    Good luck

E2180 Vs Athlon 64 X2 5000+

depends on what you plan to do with the cpu amd are good but a 3200 may only run @ 1.8 to 3.2 ghz depending while a intel 3200 will run 3.2 ghz.
I believe intel are more stable & run cooler than AMD but AMD benchmarks on Games better but run hotter (so get a good cooling fan & heatsink both pentium / celeron d & intel dou / dual core / core 2 dou and amd x2 have 2 cores (but watch your front side bus and cache the higher the better but the more $ also) then You need a good stable mobo that supports the chip you get (I preffer asus & msi for Gamers and biostar / msi for home users)
