Some indesit washer have a module if you pull your washer out make sure power is off take the back off and you will see it on your left hand side it should be in a plastic cover with about 8 wires going into the cover there should be 2 screws that locate this to the back of your washer if not then it will have carbon brushes if these are lower thanabout 8ml long they need replacing these are locatable in the motor by having 1 small wire going onto them they will be plastic with the carbon inside pf them m8

I have a kenmore 600 series, wash and drain ok, but doesn't always spin, no matter which cycle I'm using. I have to reset spin 3 or 4 times.

the first thing to always check is if you are draining the water out, if their is any water left in the outer tub it will not spin, to check this is to take the hose off the bottom of the washer on the outer tub be ready for water if this works check for clothing in pump , lint and remove it, if no water is in the tub it will be in the pressure switch, take the clear tube off the side of the outer tub if it spins you will need to clean out the spot where the tube attached don't break this nub off and put the tube back on before filling with water

Spacemaker. Why doesn't it spin?

usually the water empty switch has got stuck in the water present stage that means that the small pipe that feeds the switch is blocked, look for a small pipe about 5mm in diameter and remove it and blow gently inti it you will hear a click and then another as you release it if so then go to the place you took it off and clean the inside of the metal tube and put the tube back on and that should be that I hope that helps a little eric

Set the waterlevel to large load and the water spilled over the drum. The water did not stop automatically. Tried medium load and the same happened. Can you please help?

Your pressure switch is either bad or the line from the bottom of the tub is plugged and the machine has no idea how much water it is putting in. The pressure switch is located on the inside of the control panel, it should look something like the picture below, the tube that runs to the switch from the tub can be taken off and you can blow through it to clear it of any pluggage if it is not plugged the the switch is bad and needs replaced. Are you sure your water valves are working OK, I assumed so because you didn't mention that the water wont turn off. dcramer531_126.jpg

My washer continues to dump water and over flows. Also wash cycle not working at all. Rinse and spin ok

You have a problem with your water level switch http://www.acmehowto.com/howto/appliance/washer/check/waterlevel.php
When your switch is not working, the washing cycle will not trigger to operate.
Check your water level switch for your model, look for model number under the hood of washing machine, at the sides of washing machine, or in the back..

Why the fan is not working , the fan not move

1.Check to see if the washer is overloaded. Modern washing machines have automatic shut-off devices for out-of-balance loads. Try removing some of the clothes out of the washer and restart it. Check to make sure the lid closes properly and that the lid switch clicks when the lid is closed. If the lid switch does not click, then the switch may need to be replaced or the lid may be bent. If the washing machine still does not spin, go to Step 2. Make sure the water is draining properly. If the water does not drain out, then it could cause the washing machine not to spin. Check all the drain hoses for any clogs or kinks. This is easily done by disconnecting the drain hoses and doing a visual check for clogs or kinks
3.Check to see if any belts have came off or are loose. Unplug the washer and pull it away from the wall. Use the screwdrivers to remove the back panel. Visually check for any broken or loose belts. Replace any loose or broken belts.
4. While the back panel is off, visually check for any loose or missing bolts on the motor or drum. If any are missing or loose, tighten them and replace the ones that are missing.
5. If everything has checked out to this point, then the water level switch could be bad or the water level hose could be clogged. Remove the front panel of the washer and locate the clear tube going from the tub to the water level switch. If lint or debris has gotten into the water level hose, then the washer may not spin fast. Clean the debris from the hose by blowing on the hose or tapping it on the side. To check the water level switch, go to the back of the washer and locate the back end of the water level hose. Use the voltmeter to check to see if the water level switch is getting any power.
6.If the washing machine still doesn't spin fast enough or doesn't spin at all, then it is time to call in a professional washing machine repairman.

Washer will not drain or spin with pipe in specific washer drain but will if placed in the sink We have moved house and the new house has the usual pipework behind the washer. The machine will fill and...

    Hi.

ok Did you say the drain hose was placed on a spiggot underneath the sink???

the appliance is obviously working as you have tried the drain hose in the sink.

You may find, if you unscrew the drain spiggot, there is a blanking cap. your previous owners put this in place to stop a huge water leak when using the sink

remove cap, refit hose and it should work ok.
Please let me know if I was right?

PRESSURE (WATERLEVEL) SWITCH MAY HAVE FAILED..
LOOK IN THE CONTROL BOX AND FIND THE RUBBER HOSE GOIG TO THE WATER CONTROL. TAKE IT OFF AND BLOW DOWN IT WITH WATER IN THE MACHINE- YOU SHOUDLD HEAR IT BUBBLING- IF NOT CHECK THE OTHER END OF THE HOSE TO SEE IF IT IS CONNECTED
CHECK WHERE THE HOSE GOES ON THE CONTROL -IS IT BLOCKED?
BLOW DOWN THE HOSE,PINCH THE HOSE WITH PLIERS WHILE YOU PUT THE HOSE BACK ON, THE MACHINE SHOULD START TO WASH- OTHERWISE THE CONTROL IS FAULTY

Water wont drain from Machine or go onto spin cycle

either the level control switch has become blocked or faulty or the drain pump has become stuck.

disconnect from the mains and gain access to the rear look for a circular unit with two or three electrical connections and a plastic tube. this is the level control.follow the tube to its start and you will find a plastic connection that goes into the wash drum, remove the plastic tube from the switch end and blow into it. if there is no restistance then the system is OK at the drum end. next reconnect the tube to the switch and remove the opposite end, very gently blow down the tube and you should hear the switch operate. Test wether the switch is working by putting a meter across the switch and blow into the tube. if all of this is OK then the drain pump is at fault. locate the drain pump. it is connected to the outlet tube, try turning by hand. if it does not rotate smoothly remove the clips holding the pump body together and clear the obstruction.

Hotpoint - wont go into spin!

two possible causes motor commutator is damaged thats the bit the brushes sit on.put your finger on the commutator turn slowly and feel for raised segments or damage if there are any then this is you problem. if that is ok check you brushes have a good length and can make contact. if this is ok then check you card for damage.the filling/water level problem could be due to the limit switch pipework blockage at the base thats the small plastic pipe usual blocked into drum very common in old machines. hope this helps
