Scanning large volume of documents. Scanner works really well, but now scanning a black line down the left margin of pages. Tried feeding in a couple of blank pages to clean heads, and wiped down glass bed, but problem persists. Please help.

Re: Scanner HP 6200
Not the scanner -unless you have allowed the page framing to slip- check that out
More likely the printer- and an indicator that the waste ink tank is over full and needs servicing.
Goto www.fixyourownprinter- and log into your model to see how to do it.

Interesting question. I don't think there is a solution from CP3. It is logical to assume that front and back sides are of the same size and hence there is no provision in the software. One option is to scan once for say top side(left margin) and change the settings (select reverse scanning, i.e, bottom side only) and alter the margin as required, nevertheless you will have to scan twice. You can also crop after the images are generated separately, but it is difficult to separate odd and even images, assuming there is a large number.

Under CapturePerfect3, you can choose to deskew the scanned image while scanning itself. Also select 'Image only" radio button instead of 'Guide Plate'. The software will remove black borders around the image.

Have you tried scanning in the flat bed mode? Does it scan okay? If the image is good, then there is no problem with scan module. Check your page settings. If the page size selected for scanning is smaller than actual size, there can be some peoblems. Try and scan with max size. Check if the sensors are dust/paper free. A small piece of paper (The small round discarded piece from Computer stationery) in the paper sensor can create trouble.
