Usually a blue screen means the external device isn't connected. Since it sometimes works, the first thing to try is a new connector lead, in case your old one is faulty

SOURCE: att uverse remote won't work with other devices

Yes you have to use the recommended Uverse codes, and follow the directions to enter the code. Hold the tv button down, on the Uverse remote, then with it stil held down add the OK button, let go of both, then you will see the lights at the top of Uverse remote light up, it is then ready to accept the code, it will be a four digit code, Go to helpme@att.net, and look under TV, then programming the remote is there. Put remote Code in the att search box if you can't find it.

SOURCE: Rainbow color effect appears when Samsung LCD plays Wii or DVD

Hello, I have a question which video inputs are you using for your DVD and Wii connections? The reason I ask is because this sounds like video distortion cuased by noise. If possible can you send a picture of the screen when it has this problem and send which video ports are being used? If it is noise in the video you may have a saw filter problem, or a decoupling issue. In any event I'll know more once you send those pictures and which inputs you are using for your DVD and Wii. Thank you, Shuttle83 http://www.electron-age-technologies-llc.com service@electron-age-technologies-llc.com

It sounds like your tv might be on the way out. You will have to check this by putting another device on it. If the TV is working fine for all your channels then it is the DVD player or the DVD. A Blu Ray will not work on all TVs or all DVD players without what is called a scan converter.

We have a Samsung Smart TV. We cannot get the signal and have installed a Digital Satellite Receiver. We have a Magnavox VCR and a sony DVD Player. We owuld like to attache the same to our TV and watch...

Hi there,

Depending on your Satellite receiver's output type (i.e. HDMI or Component - Red, Green, Blue) you should connect to your tv's appropriate external inputs. Example: if you choose to connect the receiver via HDMI, then you use the SOURCE button on your tv and select the correct HDMI input you have connected your device to. If connected by Component (Red, Green, Blue) then use the SOURCE button to select the correct Component input, and so on.

Note: HDMI is the best connection type - you won't be able to access your receiver from the tv's built in tuner.

As above explanation, your VCR and DVD devices should be connected to your tv in the same manner - unless it is a combo unit (VCR & DVD in one), in which case this device can be tuned into your chosen tv channel (via the tv's tuner).

Note: if you have one of the latest SMART tv's, it should already have a built-in "Hi Definition" tuner which will allow you to watch free digital tv broadcast (DVB).

Hope this helps...

The colors are looking strange when the DVD plays. The colors look blue, neon greenish-yellow, but no reds. The colors are perfect when tv is on, but dvd screen, once movie begins, has strange colors. ...

Try placing the dvd-player as far as you can away from the TV. It may be creating EMI (electro-magnetic interference). Ensure that the wires from the DVD-to-TV are not positioned close to other electronic devices -try moving them.

You say the TV works fine on its own, so that is good; there is probably no big magnet or speaker near the TV.

If it is not anything external causing interference, then yes, your DVD player is probably malfunctioning. Try borrowing a friends..

Blue screen

Did you see the back light at the back. If yes, the problem may come from T-Con board. Try other source like playing DVD AND If THE SAME PROBLEM HAPPEN, you may think of the main board defective.

I have a rca dvd recorder+vcr combo drc8320n i want to set up watching/changing cabletv channels on the dvd remote. i have tried buying universal remotes cheap& expensive but they no longer work on my

With cable input connected to "RF in"on rear of unit make sure vidoe input is set to "Tuner". This will show up on the TV screen. Change channels numerically or using up/down arrow keys on DVR remote. Note there is a slight pause between changing channels. You probably will have to "autoscan" for channel setup/etc. If you say your TV set is old; it probabaly is equiped with coax
connection only/set TV channel to "3" or "4". when yot opt to play vcr/dvd it will override your
cable channel selected. Hope this helps!

Intermitting blue screen whilst watching my dvd

I'll need more information, but it sounds like an encoded (for copy protection) dvd being played through another device before going to the TV. That intermittent blue screen is usually that. How are you hooking up to your TV?

It's a problem with the Samsung. If you get a Samsung title screen, the HDMI is OK and the TV is OK.

Cant get rid of black baras on top and below while watching DVD's

The TV remote may have a button stating Aspect Ratio, or similar. Usually when you keep hitting it, it may cycle through available settings like 16:9, 4:3, Wide, Zoom, etc. If not, or if the remote doesn't have this button, check the TV's onscreen display but usually the source device like the DVD player is in control of how the image fits the screen so the DVD player's onscreen display or it's remote may also have the Aspect option so check it as well. Todays TV's are alot like PC monitors and they "talk" to the device in control of the signal. Your Samsung may have worked better with the Blu Ray, or maybe it's the other way around but your new LG may not have an automatic adjustment like the Samsung may have had.

DVD movies do not play

A blue screen means the TV is not receiving a video signal. Check all connections, then try another player, cable, etc. Also, check DVD and TV AV settings.
