Compressor shut off for no reason

You need to to determine the superheat and subcooling to check for the proper operation of your system when the compressor is running. I ran into a case just yesterday, the breaker kept tripping. Unit had the same readings as yours. This one had a subcooling of >25 degrees and 0 degrees superheat indicating unit was overcharged. I took an extra 8 pounds of r22 out of the system. During the investigation I also determined the filter/drier was blocking the refrigerant flow causing the technician to overcharge the unit. To check filter/drier performance all you need to do is measure the upstream and downstream temperature. The difference should be less than 2 degrees. This one was 7 degrees indicating it was metering flow. If your compressor stops operating before determining superheat and subcooling, you can get a professional tech to recover and weigh out the refrigerant in your system. You can look on the nameplate data on the side of the outside unit and see the ounces of refrigerant it is charged. If the compressor is operable go ahead and adjust charge by recovering the excess refrigerant into a recovery container for that refrigerant. Normal superheat and subcooling is normally around 10 - 15 degrees.
Hope this helps

How to do system recovery on compaq presario 5000 windows me

Starting a Recovery Turn on the computer and immediately begin pressing the F10 key repeatedly until a Recovery Screen appears. You can also start a recovery from recovery discs, or from Windows. For more information refer to Performing a Full System Recovery in Windows XP . Back to topRecovery is taking too long If your computer stops responding after using the recovery program, do the following:
NOTE: If the computer appears to have stopped responding after restarting from a recovery, please wait, it may take several hours or longer to complete the initial Windows XP setup process, especially if a recovery was run from a recovery disc set sent by HP. A Standard recovery may also take longer, depending on how many files are stored in user accounts (like in My Documents ).
  1. Exit the stalled recovery process by pressing the POWER button on the PC until the power turns off, this takes approximately five seconds.
  2. Before recovering, disconnect personal media drives, printers, scanners, cameras, camera-type memory cards, and other devices that did not originally come with the PC.
  3. If you are using recovery discs, be aware of the following items:
    • If you created the recovery discs using Recovery CD Creator, be sure to run the recovery from the same drive that you used to create the discs.
    • Clean the discs with a soft, clean, lint-free cloth wetted with distilled water. Wipe from the center of the disc to the outside edge. You may also use disc cleaning kits or disc restoration kits from your local computer store. These kits produce better results than using cloth and water.
    • You may also use available CD/DVD Drive cleaning kits to clean the laser reading lens of the CD or DVD drive.
  4. Try running a full system recovery again from the hard drive by turning the on the computer and pressing the F10 key until a Recovery Screen appears. This performs the recovery from the hard drive.
  5. If the recovery stops when recovering from the hard drive, use the section Disc errors occur during the recovery process to eliminate errors on the drive. Try recovering again after the disk errors are removed.

Can you put a 410a air handler with a r22 condensor

No. R22 and R410 are not compatible. R410 units operate at much higher pressures than a comparable R22 unit. These refrigerants also use different types of oil which are not compatible. If you need to replace half you might as well replace the whole unit because I was told that as of January 1 of this year you can no longer buy an entire R22 unit unless it is one a dealer still has in stock. They are phasing out R22.

Nothing happens when I insert the recovery disc

when it tells you to take out every disc, leave the recovery disc as it contains the files needed for it to recover your system to factory specs

No sound available

I've had a similar problem once or twice over the years. What you're going to want to do is reinstall the audio driver your computer came with which can be done through the recovery manager. It will ask you if you want to perform a program recovery, select no. Afterwards it willa sk you if you want to perform a driver recover and select yes. scroll down the list of drivers and select the audio one. it will take a few minutes to install and then to restart your computer. your volume should be up and running again. Good Luck!
