Be very careful and make sure you time it right. Then rotate the engine by hand to check for any binding.

I had a mechican take off my alternator to replace with a new one a he is have trouble on puttin back on a belt. i need assistance on telling how to put back on the belt.

A new belt is being used im assuming? you can buy a slightly larger belt if needed, maybe the old was undersized to make a noise go away, common auto shop trick used for years.

When turn over after puttin a new alternetter in

Recheck all your connections. Make sure the alternator wire is tight and on correct. Some vehicles have a certain way to put the belt back correct. I know the 96 sebring does. Chrysler and Dodge are similar. Could be that.

Picture diagram to show me how to put the belt back on

Tony,
If your serpintine belt fell off, and it is not broken, you have a much bigger problem then you think.
Before puttin a new belt on, check all pulleys, Power steerin, alternator, AC,Belt tensioner, waterpump The AC may or may not move ,
If one of those units don't move, don't put the belt on till you replace that which didn't move

By-passing the a/c compressor with a shorter belt

The best way to do this is first ask the parts house to see if this car came with out air and get a belt that way. I dont think that year had the option of not havnig A/C. The other way is take a piece of rope and put it around the pullys just like you are puttin on the belt but by pass the A/C you might have to make a few trips or get a few different size belts but its the only way
