SOURCE: My VCR is egecting the tape with the casstte adapter.

The cassette adapter uses 1 AA battery. When you place your VHSC tape into the adapter and close the cover, you will hear the motor running and the red piece on the adapter will move inside. Check the placement of the battery and make sure the clear shrink wrap has been removed from the battery

Why did my panasonic PV-9450 eat a a tape?

Hi Melanie -

First, you should keep away from the T-160 tapes as they are thinner and more likely to jam. The T-120 or less sizes are better. Next, use high quality name brand tape - not the off-brands found in the bargain bin.

Do the regular maintenance. All tape is "dirty" (including cassette, 8 track, reel to reel, etc.) and will deposit dirt on the tape heads and "transport" mechanism. Transport consists of capstan and pinch rollers that push / pull the tape in and out of the housing. when dirty, they slip and interfere with the "pick up" of a quality picture from the tape. Use of a quality wet cleaning system at regular intervals (or whenever picture quality deteriorates or tapes jam) is highly recommended. Here are some googled results for wet VHS cleaning systems:

Good luck!

I have a partially disassembled Panasonic Pv-p1 vhsc adapter.

I have two Panasonic VHS-C adapters so I know what it is like to try to salvage a tape. Basically, you have two choices: complete disassembly of the adapter and salvage the tape or reassemble the adapter and try to salvage the tape. I have never seen any repair information so learned by trial and error

My vhs c adaptor wont play my casette. It plays for two seconds then the power to the vcr turns off. Yes I have tried several vcrs

This is because something is jamming either in the adaptor mechanism (nightmare devices at best!) or in the tape cassette.
If you can afford to, escape from this dinosaur technology and enjoy a digital camcorder with a hard drive and/or recording on cards.
No moving parts! No tape tangles, jams or breaks! HD quality!
Well worth considering.

I bought a panasonic cassette adaptor for my vhs-c tapes . it says svhs adaptor on the front of the box .will the ordinary vhs-c tapes fit in it and does the door open on the front or is it loaded from the...

You don't specify the adapter you have, but most load from the top. The main thing here is that VHS and VHS-C are both the same size of tape. Whether they are recorded in SVHS mode or not will not affect the adapter, just whether or not you get a picture. Theadapter only allows you to put a compact cassette (VHS-C) into a standard VHS VCR. The adapter will require batteries to allow it to place the VHS-C cassette tape into the proper position for use in the VCR.

Where do I buy a Panasonic cassette adaptor VW-TCA7E VHS

You can get a cassette adaptor that will except any VHS-C tapes and play them back on any standard VCR from Maplin www.maplin.co.uk.
They are £14.99 plus post! It's unlikely that you just have to have the Panasonic one!
