LG TV Turns itself off

My LG TV (32in) will switch off when I am watching it. It seems to be completely random and sometime I can watch the TV uninterupted for hours and other times it will stay on for 10 seconds before switching off. I am not using any cabel service (Sky etc) and just use the connection in the flat. It I turn the TV back on after it has switched off then usually it will stay on for 10 seconds before turning off again. I can go through this enlessly (keep switching on and then it turning off for 10 times plus) sometimes if I swtich it off at the wall and leave it off for 10 minutes and turn it back on it will stay back on for maybe 10 minutes but then the process repeats itself. Any help?

Sounds like it could be a poor connection in the power plug or a ' dry joint ' on the power board, if it's the latter, it will respond to light thumping at the side of the tv. If that's the case it needs resoldering by a technician..
good luck !

SOURCE: tv turns off after 15 minutes of use

ok, why are you unplugging it? Does the power button not turn the 42LC7D on after it shuts off (after 15 min)?

For bobby11 and luis, it is the power supply. Part Number EAY34797001 in the 42" and EAY34796801 in the 32". This is a known problem, and somebody should start a Class Action against LG over this one. Part is available online and easy to swap out for anyone with the most basic knowledge.

SOURCE: Lg Plasma Display settings keep switching

When you boot up your tv for the first time, you get to choose between home and shop-mode.
In your case, he TV is set to "shop-mode".
Then it will go back to factory settings after 5-10 minutes. (so that customers won't mess up the settings all the time)

So change the settings from shop to home, and your problem is fixed!

SOURCE: tv shuts off, and then turns back on, by itself

Mainboard damaged and need to be replaced, try EBAY for a general picture of prices but you will need your product code wich is located in the back of the TV next to serial number.

make sure you dont have a device plugged with two differents cables ie. HDMI and AV or HDMI and COMPONENT

SOURCE: I have a 2007 LG 32 inch flat screen TV model

It can be cold solder joint in the power supply or component failure after heating up. You should do this when the screen is black out to help narrow down the problems.
First, look at the screen in darkened room to see if you can see any slight glow from the screen, if it does, then the problem can be the T-CON (not getting the 12vdc) or the main logic board not feeding the signals to the T-CON board.
if not, next place to check will be the power supply module, make sure it has 24vdc which is required by the backlight inverter to work, the reason for not having 24vdc can be from bad DC filter caps (leaking/bulging top, high ESR) or short circuits in the inverter board which will cause the 24vdc supply to go into shutdown mode, so you may have to disconnect the power cable that feed the inverter board to see if the 24vdc will work without the inverter board hookup, you will need to apply about 3~4 amp of load to the 24vdc to make sure it can handle that. There are fuses on the backlight inverter boards also. So there is some troubleshooting you will have to do to find out the causes of the problem you are having.

Pioneer dvr-220 randomly turns off

There might be a connection that could be loose here to have your TV be turning off or there is a problem with the TV's power supply or a Tcon board problem or the power cord might be bad.

My tv turns itself off while watching it after awhile

if it turns off and the timer light starts blinking you have a bad dm module, very expensive, it the light doesn't flash you have either bad front switches or something on the signal board, you can remove the speaker grill and disconnect both plugs and use your remote, this will disconnect the switches. if it still shuts off, you need baord repair, may be a bad solder connections, may be a chip/board needing replaced, you need a repairman and alot of money at that point.
