Top tray not washing properly and tablets not dissolving are linked. On my FDW60 same problem was down to the top tray not being pushed fully home (tendency to use closing the door to push top home). This meant the flap of the tablet 'hatch' was stopped from fully opening by the tray, also poor water pressure to drive the rotating sparge bar on the underside of the top tray.
Be sure to push the top tray all the way home BEFORE closing the door, aaannd SPENT!

Seriel PAA41010 dishwasher does not dissolve tablets

Tablets dissolve in the water, normally by the drawer opening and the tablet falling out into the wash. Is the door sticking (tablet door not loading door) or is the wash arm not spinning freely or blocked? These can interfere with the cycle

AEG 50879

This option can be selected by pressing the corresponding button, and remains in memory until the same
button is pressed again. This option modifies the phases of the programme in order to optimize performance
when "3 in 1, 5 in 1, 7 in 1, ......." detergent tablets are used:

- variation of the duration of the programme and the temperatures required to dissolve the detergent tablets.
- reduction of water exchange
- exclusion of introduction of rinse-aid
- exclusion of regeneration

If you use a dishwasher in the traditional manner (detergent, rinse aid, salt) then the Multitab function is disabled. If you use tabs that are already on the market with rinse aid and salt there is a possibility during washing cycle to add a double dose of rinse aid. From rinse aid dispenser and rinse aid from tabs. This will lead to poor cleaning results, glasses will look like they have been washed in milk..To avoid that you must turn on "Multitab" function and thus exclusion of introduction of rinse-aid from rinse aid dispenser. This function also stops the regeneration and will not spend salt because salt is already in a tabs. Also extends the washing time because tablets need more time to dissolve in relation to the traditional powder detergent.

I have a fairly new Fisher and Paykel double drawer dishwasher. A problem has developed all of a sudden whereby the Finish powerball tablet does not completely dissolve during the cycle (top drawer only),...

The water temperature is not coming up to the required level. The heater might be failing. Will need a technician to fix unless you are very savvy with technical repairs. Have you tried using the detergent powder in the dispenser to find if results are different.

Soap tablets are not disolving in the drawer?

Unlike a dishwasher the drawer on a washing machine is for soap powder or liquid. Tablets won't dissolve in the drawer you need to put them in the drum if at all.

Using powder 1/2 recommend amount. there is a continual build up of powder in the dispensing cavity behind drawer. how do I prevent this am having to clean with toothbrush daily

Hi

When you start a cycle, does the machine take a long time for it to fill up with water.

If so, you have a faulty inlet valve. There is a rubber diaphram inside the valve which tends to tear over time. When this happens the water just trickles in. Therefore the soap/powder is not dissolved into the tub thouroughly.

Some powders also dissolve less than others, and using the machine on hot water cycle helps to dissolve the soap faster.

GLD6500 Series Dishwasher -- soap dispenser has

Yes that's normal for that machine. The soap has to be washed out of the soap drawer by the top spray arm turning, and that's usually the problem - the arm isn't turning. Check both spray arms for blocked jets at the very end - remove blockages with a pin and water flow from tap. In the worst case, you may need a new spray arm - but they are usually cheap.
More points to remember - on a rapid 30 minute wash program only, if you are using wash tablets, don't put them in the soap drawer as there wont be enough time for them to dissolve. put the tabs in the cutlery basket. Also - a dishwasher is not a garbage disposal unit, and uneaten food must be scraped of plates before putting them in the dishwasher. Run a dishwasher cleaner through now and then, or do a full program wash with nothing in the machine to clean it out and to keep spray arms clear.

Top arm is not moving

Filter and rotor jets prob clogged.

In wash, the water is heated, supposed to dissolve the soap and then sucked thru a filter and pumped up the back and out the top to spray water everywhere.

Soap doesn't always fully dissolve and clogs the filter and some slimy gets thru and clogs the rotor jets.

To fix:
1. Remove Upper and lower dish drawers

2. Take off the Upper. Middle and lotwe rotors and clean their jets out with toothpick and frequent flushing (Plug a clean hole with toothpick to make water come out elsewhere) Use the sink on full blast to see if water comes out all holes.

3. Reassemble rotors.

4. Remove and clean filter. The filter is in the bottom above the Motor/pump and held in with 8 shiny hex-head or Torx screws. Take out all screws, lift out filter and clean in sink with warm or hot water from backside. Use garden hose for hard to reach areas.

5. Reinstall filter. Don't overtighten or you will crack it

6. Replace drawers

Done!

either there is not enough water (check water valve) or the pump filters are clogged (check and clean as necessary)

Goes through washing cycle but doesn't dissolve the tablets or cleans the clothes.

Clean out your outlet filter; this is to be done regularly once a month, depending on your usage. Re your tablets not disolving, try using front loading washing powder. Also refer to your manual..........
