Question about ViewSonic PJ551 Multimedia Projector

Viewsonic Projector Blue Vertical Line

I have a PJ551 Viewsonic Projector, and recently it has developed a large vertical line or patch of blue across the screen It starts off quite faded but after 10mins of runnning time the video becomes unwatchable. Any help would be much appreciated.

Hi guys

This is a common Mainboard problem on Projectors , unfortunately the Board will either need repairing or replacing.

No shortcutts on this one !

Hi... Projector show vertical lines... Issue in your logic board filter's missing on logic input board check for fail signal on video input logic board,,, check input connector for broken pin inside connector... also check capacitor & resistance arround video logic processor, possibility of over heat conponent

We can check if the problem is on the hardware(projector) itself or if from source(device connected to projector) try to turn on projector without connecting any other devices to it. If you can still see the pink line- try to remove bulb and reinstall it. If all fails and pink line still visible, there is a problem with projector. If no line is present- check settings and change input signals.

LCD projector 101, your blue device is dying inside of projector. Consider purchasing a dlp based product, they do not suffer from color decay.

Really you are blessed , most lcds last about 3-4000 hours or 4 lamp changes. good luck

PJ551 won't connect to laptop

Use your function key (Fn) and press F8 (CRT/LCD). This will tell your laptop to switch to projector mode.

HD70 additional information on vertical problem

well the vertical ic on the main board need to be replaced....
the will need de-soldering the chip and replaced by a new one

I have a viewsonic pj510 that has worked fine for months.

Hi Leo7

Try right clicking on your desktop and going to properties.

Then go to advanced and check in the window with the two screens in it if the secondary screen/monitor is attached - it should be attached.
