Question about Sylvania Televison & Video
A few weeks ago I accidentally pushed the power button into my TV. It still worked with the remote and I had no troubles. I just recently accidentally rolled over onto the remote while sleeping, and now there are random numbers on the TV screen, and my remote will not work at all. Unplugging the TV and plugging it back in didn't do anything, how do I fix this?
Its main system control IC has been confused with unfamilier input signals from the remote control. In most cased, the memory IC might be replaced. If you wish to get more details, surf the

fot the most part, you have solved your problem (pow bd), The main bd may also need to be replaced as well. The is a signal upon powering up the system. the pow bd communicates with the signal board. The signal bd, also is responsible for ALL of your additional I/O lines. Between the two of these, + a firmware update, i think the tv will be just fine.

It can be a faulty infra-red receiver board, usually wont pick up signal from wide angle or distance. what is your tv?

yes call the tech and have the power board replaced. In future have the TV plugged into an anti surge board to protect it ( and you from expensive repair.) I suspect you will need a new power supply fitted

I have the same TV and I just replaced the Capacitors. It came with 2 10000UF 10V caps and I put in 2 1000UF 35Volt caps from radio shack. Its like brand new. There is even a video on how to change them on You Tube.

SOURCE: LG 42 LCD no sound or picture
Did anyone find out the solution for this??????? I have the exact same problem with my LG 32 LCD. I only had it for a year and a half, and the green light blinks a few times and it shows no picture. Not even a red light when the tv is off. The same thing happened a couple weeks ago and by some miracle it started working again.
