Have you tried a System Restore to a date before this issue? Are you referring to a SD type card? Have you done ALL your Windows Updates? Are they Current?

You have tried the SD Card in another Machine? What is on the Cards? Have they worked in the past? Have you opened Device Manager and checked if the Card Reader is listed? You have Windows 7 Home Prem 32 or 64 bit? Select your OS, the drivers can be found here:

  • awlgrip2 May 12, 2013

Yes..the cards work fine in other is listed in Device Manager..64 bit system..have updated all drives..still NO GO

  • awlgrip2 May 12, 2013

Forgot to add that pictures are on the cards...Thanks

So no cards of any type work in the Card Reader? That would leave a hardware problem or perhaps a loose connection, Does the LED on the Card Reader light/blink when you push in the Cards? Has the Card Reader worked in the past? Try uninstalling the Card Reader in Device Manager and rebooting the Computer, allow the OS to find new hardware and apply a driver to verify that the machine "sees" the Card Reader as a hardware device. Create a restore point before this procedure, open System Properties, System Protection, Create....

I'll keep you posted cards of any type will work. There is no "flashing light" on this computer...

Sometimes if you look close there is a tiny LED the lights up when the card is fully inserted, it blinks when it's communicating/data transfer.

You never confirmed that the Card Reader has worked in the past?

  • awlgrip2 May 13, 2013

I'm sorry...yes it was fully functional...

  • awlgrip2 May 13, 2013

Help me import from nikon cool pix s210 to Wlndows Live Photo Gallery 2011....laptop not recognizing camera

The best way to transfer pictures from a camera with an SD memory card is to do it outside the camera. If your computer does not have an SD card reader built in, you can buy an external USB card reader for $20 or less on E-bay, Amazon, etc. Remove the memory card from the camera and insert it in the card reader. Your computer will treat the card reader and SD card just like it treats an external hard drive. Either drag-n-drop or copy and paste your pictures from the SD card file to a file on your hard drive. If after you have copied and backed up your files you want to reformat your SD card, replace it in the camera and format it in the camera, not in the computer. SD cards formatted in a computer will often not work in your camera because of slight differences in the formatting.

I can't unlock my tablet

Best info found;
"The Craig does NOT support a reset mode, none of the typical combinations of power/volume buttons get you to a restore screen.

The only supported way to restore to default is a firmware restore mode. will tell you how to get the firmware file

(install instructions:

HOWEVER! Some CMP741 units will end up stuck on the green Android screen with this version!

If that happens, Craig has supplied a cleaner firmware in case that the first one fails,

The name of the core image in that RAR file is sun4i_crane_aihua_20121121, if that gives anyone clues about the system.

Installs the same way - will reboot several times after the firmware install completes, and will fail the first time it runs ("Unfortunately, <process name> has stopped." over and over again). One more reboot will solve that issue.
The Flashing software, PhoenixCard 3.06, is VERY buggy. If would not work with my built multi-card reader on my PC or with an add on-SD card reader on that PC. (could not even see the card). On my laptop, the built in PCI Card reader never recognized the card, but it finally burned the card using the add on card reader. Some people suggest disconnecting ALL USB peripherals before burning. Also, I found if the flash burning failed over and over, sometime a reboot caused PhoenixCard to start working again."

I put a sd memory card from my camera in my computer. the computer hasnt uploaded the pictures or done anything.

I guess you have a built in card reader? Is there any chance your camera SD card is SDHC? Some card readers including built in types and those that you connect to a USB port have trouble with the later and faster generation SDHC cards but are happy with plain old SD cards.
If you are using an external card reader, does it work in another computer? If it does work, then the problem is with your computer.
If you have a built in reader, can you borrow someones external card reader that you know and does work with SD and SDHC cards?
Can you try an older SD card in your current setup? If that works OK then it's the issue with SDHC that is your problem.
Easily fixed by buying yourself a $10-20 external card reader

My camera cards have stopped working when I put them into my e machine modem to veiw or transfer to picture folders. I have had the camera and e machine for 5 years and never had a problem befor this.

have you tried reinstalling the drivers to the camera. If you got the disc that came with your camera go to control panel and uninstall them. Then reinstall using the cd. Make sure you back up your photos first. If this dosent work it could be that you need a new card reader

Acer 1691wlmi 4-in-1 card reader wont' work

Hi Traveler,

let me help you with this, but first...

Is it a USB Card Reader?

has it worked before on any other pc that you know of?

when you plug it into your computer does windows detect it?have you been able to install it?

If it doesnt detect it does the card reader itself have a power switch?

is there a light on the card reader? if so does it come on?

thanks in advance for answering my questions. I'm here to help.

After reformatting my fujitsu lifebook n5010 it doesnt read it.

Is the card reader built into the computer?
I know there are a few card readers out there having trouble reading 2 gig memory cards if the computer or card reader was built over 5 years ago.
If you have a data cable for your phone and software for the phone, your computer should be able to read it that way.
