i don;t realy understand ...
so u have a wireless router and the computer that connects to it shows that is connected but it doesn't work on the internet ?
than the computer connecting to the router is connected, but the router it self is not connected to the internet ! Go at the router settings and configure the internet connection ...
if this is not the issue, please try to explain again with more details what the problem is....

Yep, microwaves will give them hell as they work along the same frequency. Ours used to switch our wireless on and off whenever my mother was cooking. Much fun, I can tell you.

What I did do as a temporary solution when I had similar problems is make a small satellite dish out of foil for my dongle.
It may be worth investing in a router with more powerful wireless. There's some 2-Wire routers also sold as BT Home Business Hubs which have stronger wlan than usual. They tend to cost more but they're worth it. Really good routers too, especially if you have a weak line.

I got your issue, Since your router keeps dropping the connection , the best fix is to update the firmware on the router. Here is the link,
You have 4 different firmware version, select the appropriate version for Eg: If your version number of the router is ver:3000 then download v 3xxx and update the firmware on the router , that it will fix your issue.

the driver could be on the motherboard disk or the one supplied by your ISP internet service supplier or you might need to download it
