Have you run a malware scan recently? Open Internet Options in control Panel, select Programs Tab, open Manage add-ons, check for Unnecessary Add-ons. Try freeware MALWAREBYTES: http://www.filehippo.com/download_malwarebytes_anti_malware/ In the install, UNCHECK the Trial Pro version, you want the freeware version. Run a FULL scan, delete ALL results, reboot. Use freeware CCLEANER: http://www.filehippo.com/download_ccleaner/ To remove junk. In the TOOLS section, select STARTUP, disable ALL unnecessary startup programs, check ALL Tabs.

SOURCE: my acer desktop will only

You need to update your drivers. On a computer that I built I had the same message. The problem was that my Nvidia graphics driver was out of date. I'm not sure what the direct correlation between the two are but as soon as I updated the driver, I stopped recieving the message and IE works fine for me now. If this does not work than try using firefox instead.

It almost sounds like a stuck key like your up arrow key is stuck. With that said I would also try a different web browser like Firefox or Google Chrome you can get them INSTALLED over at the link below:

Make google home page

If your on Internet Explorer you can go to the gear at the top right hand of the page and then click on Internet Options. It opens to the general tab, in the box it may say "http://www.msn.com", just clear that out of there and type in "https://www.google.com", the reason for the "s" in https is for a secure connection to google.
*Note: In 2013 Google changed to https for a more secure connection.
Click apply and save and close your window, then open Internet Explorer. Your home page is now Google.

Make google my home page

nana, to do this depends on the internet browser you are using and the version. The most common is Internet Explorer (a Blue e icon) to make Google your home page open the page as you wish it to be in Internet Explorer and wait until it has finished opening. Once done look for the tools menu at the top of the window. In there look for Internet options. once this is opened the General tab contains the section at the top for setting your default home page, just click 'use current', multiple pages can be entered in this section and for each line added a new window will open for each when Internet Explorer starts. once you have the URL is entered correctly click ok,

Make google my home page

In Internet Explorer go to www.google.com, then go to Tools>Internet Options>Click Use Current in the Home Page Section>Click Apply Lower Right>Click OK after Apply Greys out. Close browser and re-open to test. Google should now be set as your new home page.

You may enter more addresses there if necessary, separate by a comma & a space and multiple home pages on multiple tabs will open also.

When I connect to IE five pages open

Not sure what version of IE you are using, but if you go to the Control Panel - Internet Options, on the General page you will see a large box with multiple lines in it all staring with HTTP...

Highlight the lines you do not require and delete them leaving at least the one you want, or if you want to change it say to google enter....
http://www.google.co.uk

This will take you to Google every time you start.

From start screen,we want i/explorer,but it keeps going to 'yahoo'. We don't want yahoo! Where are we going wrong?

  1. You need to change your Home Page. Decide what you want for a home page, e.x. google.com, msn.com, bing.com, pcrepairshop.org, etc.
  2. Open up your Start Menu, followed by opening your Control Panel.
  3. Find the Internet Option Control Panel and open it.
  4. Type in your desired home page in the Home Page box of the Internet Properties window.
  5. Click Apply and OK. Open a new instance of Internet Explorer to see your Home Page.

When I try to open internet explorer an error box pops up saying There is a problem with internet explorer and this has to close.

Internet Explorer would sometimes act like this when you have multiple toolbars or addons installed. Try this:

- Go to the control panel
- Go to internet options
- Go to the programs tab and click on manage addons
- Disable all unnecessary addons

This must work
