Have sony xav-60 head unit trying to install a rear view camera, but having issues getting unit to switch over when in reverse what wires need to go where camera has yellow video output 1 red wire, 1 black...

You might try the truly wireless QuickVu(TM) Wireless Backup Camera. Run the yellow RCA cable from the receiver to your Sony unit, if it has an RCA input. The QuickVu camera has no wires, so that part is really easy. Buy direct from the manufacturer!

My dvd will not disply the video. i keep getting an alert that it is strictly prohibitied to veiw DVD while the vehicle is moving, but i am not moving i'm parked

The parking brake wire (light green) is not connected. If you choose to view DVDs while you are in motion, you will need to move the mute wire (yellow with black) over one pin hole in the harness. Then connect it and the light green to ground.

How do you hook the boyo vtl200cir up? Instructions are vage.

You're right, I found the manual and the instructions are not so clear, but looking at the 4 pin mini din connector that comes from the camera, you must connect the +12V pin to a switched +12V output, in example you could take this voltage from cigarrete lighter outlet and put an extra fuse and a switch to turn on or off the rear camera as you need it, the GND pin can be connecte to a screw into chassis or another good GND point. The Video pin is the output to your monitor or video receiver input. The Nir pin seems indicates a Night infrared activation input, maybe it could be connected to license plate lights, try leaving this wire disconnected and see if the camera works fine, if you want to test this wire, you can do it with a voltimeter to detect if there's voltage in this point or a continuity tester in the case that there's a relay contact. Below is the link to download if you want the helpful manual:

Rear view camera setting???

Dear debbie,
This could be caused by the following:
Purple/white "reverse sensor wire" not connected to vehicles reverse lamp harness. (Are your reverse lamps functioning?)
OR
Reverse cam video out not connected to Kenwood's "rear view camera input" (Yellow RCA socket behind the unit).
The monitor set up controls merely switch R-cam betwen "full, just, zoom and normal" modes. No provision here to ebnable or disable the cam.
When you put your car in reverse dos the monitor screen change?.
